Hello Parcel Editors, Here's a 2torial (a two minute tutorial) on a new feature in ArcGIS Pro 3.1; Strata Parcels. This new functionality allows you to enable floor awareness for any parcel type. Simply adding the new field FloorOrder (type LONG) to both a polygon and line feature class of a parcel type will enable this new functionality. Watch this video to see how to make your vertical parcel data more accessible both in 2D and in 3D. For more information on all the features seen in this video please check out the following links: Strata Parcels at ArcGIS Pro 3.1 Elevation Surface Layers Data Extrusion Range Slider

Mike Snook – GIS Manager Missoula County Montana. Missoula County has long integrated Montana State Department of Revenue (DOR) data into daily workflows when updating their county-wide cadastral system. Using DOR data allows for quality assurance checking for both entities when it comes to verifying the correct legal description for assessment purposes. Missoula County also integrates County Surveyor plat review data into the cadastral update process for a streamlined method of parcel input through the use of custom add-ins for ArcGIS Pro.

Hello @AndrewWallick One way to have a specific layer set on the Traverse tool is to use it in a Task. If you have a workflow where you are traversing specific lines (or polys) you can create a Task and set the Traverse as the action for a step. You can preset the layer that is set in the Traverse tool when that step is run. Also @LucasBeauchamp the Traverse tool does remember the last layer you were editing within the instance of Pro. If you close Pro it will reset to the top line/poly feature alphabetically. -Jason

Just to let everyone know, at 3.1 there will be an option in the back stage (Editing section) that will allow you to set the default tool when deactivating editing tools. You can now always revert back to the last used Select Tool when exiting Edit Vertices for example.

Hello @BinhLe2 I've tried testing at the latest version of the software (Pro 3.1 and Enterprise 11.1) and I am unable to reproduce this behavior. I've created some lines with a domain and tried using split with and without a record and the domain value is preserved in all cases. I did make sure to set my split policy on that domain to Duplicate, like you stated above as well. If you are still having issues you could contact technical support and they could take a look at your data and see if they can diagnose the issue. Thanks, Jason Camerano

Hello @AlisonKelsey I have a couple questions: 1. Are you using the parcel fabric? 2. If so do you have an active record when running the divide tool? 3. If all yes to all those questions, could you post some screenshots of the divide workflow? Thanks, Jason Camerano

Hey @MDB_GIS I would suggest looking into align parcels. After you shrank that parcel to seed and corrected the boundary line you could use the Align Parcels, create links and align. Just also be aware that the features that are selected will be the features that move. This should maintain that easement that you have. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/parcel-editing/alignparcelfeatures.htm

Hey @DeanAnderson2 While it is true that the maps that will be configured and controlled by a Task need to be present during design time, they can however have their names changed after Design. As long as they are in the same project. For example, I have Map1 and I have a task that is controlling/opening/closing that map. If I later decide to rename that map within the project to "MyParcelMap" then the Task will know that is the same map and will continue to control that map. If I create a new map and call it Map1 thinking that the Task with now control that map, it will not and it will have to be re-mapped in the Designer and point to that map. The variable within the Task does not rely on the name but a unique key that is associated to each Map within the project.

Hey @KimberlyEmme A couple questions: 1. This feature class that you're trying to migrate to Pro COGO, is it COGO enabled in ArcMap? 2. If it is not, then you can just go directly into Pro and enable COGO on those lines. If you had used the ArcMap traverse tool to create the lines and the feature class was not COGO enabled in ArcMap, none of the COGO values were stored on the lines. However, if you didn't manipulate the lines, after you just bring them into Pro and enable COGO you can run Update COGO and the COGO values will be updated. 3. If the feature class you are trying to migrate to Pro is COGO enabled, can you send me a small sample? I am curious how polylines exist in the data.

Hello @DirkPeterson2 I was curious if you could detail this workflow a little more? Like what steps are needed to be taken to create these maps? I'm not exactly sure if your wanting this to be automated or if your wanting to create a step by step to guide with user interaction to create these maps. Thanks, Jason Camerano

Hey @jcarlson You could take the "Shared" label class from the other Parcel Type lines and copy and paste it into the Connection Lines layer. However they might be a small trick, you should copy the label expression from Connection Lines and paste it else where. Once you bring the Shared Line label class to the connection lines you will need to remove SQL query that's checking for the Label Position field and in the Connection Line Label Expression you can re-paste the copied label expression. The reason for the copy and paste of the expression is that the other Parcel Type lines label expression check for the Label Position field (I've since added a try/catch like code in the arcade expression so it would work for connection lines). However, we will take into consideration making this the default. Thanks for the post!

Hey, Here's a link to a video that goes through migration of existing data: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-parcel-fabric-videos/meetup-migrating-and-administrating-parcels-with/m-p/1022942 If you're starting completely from scratch there is good information in the above video as well, creating the fabric and configuring your schema, publishing, etc. Also check out this area for a lot of other videos for different workflows and other topics: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-parcel-fabric-videos/bd-p/arcgis-parcel-fabric-videos Hope these links help you out and feel free to ask any more specific questions you might have.
