MeetUp Description:
Miami‑Dade County, one of the largest and most complex county governments in the United States, modernized its land records system by migrating from a highly customized ArcMap environment to a commercial off‑the‑shelf solution built on ArcGIS Parcel Fabric, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Workflow Manager. Working closely with Esri Professional Services, the county implemented a phased migration that maintained uninterrupted parcel editing across departments while improving data integrity, retaining historical edits, and increasing workflow transparency. Completed in September 2024 with only a single weekend of downtime, the transition streamlined parcel maintenance, strengthened cross‑department collaboration, and positioned Miami‑Dade for continued growth and future ArcGIS upgrades—demonstrating how even the most complex parcel environments can successfully modernize with thoughtful planning and stakeholder engagement.
