ArcGIS Monitor provides observability by collecting metrics on the health, performance, and usage of your enterprise GIS. It is designed to help system administrators and GIS managers ensure their ArcGIS Enterprise deployments and underlying infrastructure is working efficiently. Please join us for the sixth user group meeting on June 9, 2026 at 9 am PST. Registration link What to expect: Cloudpoint Geospatial will provide strategies and tips for proactive management of an enterprise GIS, while dymaptic will discuss leveraging AI to extend ArcGIS Monitor. Attendees should have a solid foundation in ArcGIS Enterprise and working knowledge of ArcGIS Monitor. Meet our guest speakers: Virginia VanderVeen, Senior Systems Engineer, Cloudpoint Geospatial Virginia is a senior systems engineer focused on ArcGIS Enterprise architecture and operations. With a background in municipal GIS, early experience included supporting public works as a GIS analyst for the City of Battle Creek, Michigan, and administering the city’s asset management system, Cityworks. At Cloudpoint, Virginia designs and manages ArcGIS Enterprise deployments across on-premises and cloud environments as well as ArcGIS Enterprise roles and extensions such as ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Monitor. Current work centers on system administration and automation using PowerShell, Python, and SQL, bridging the gap between GIS and IT to deliver stable, scalable GIS platforms. Christopher Moravec, Chief Technology Officer, dymaptic Christopher is an expert problem-solver and technology innovator who specializes in turning complex challenges into elegant solutions. As the CTO and founder of dymaptic, he combines his passion for building software with his expertise in GIS and AI technologies. Known for his creative approach to engineering challenges—from developing enterprise mapping solutions to creating whimsical inventions like candy-dispensing robots—Christopher brings both technical precision and innovative thinking to every project he undertakes. Kevin Sadrak, GIS Developer and Administrator, dymaptic As a child, Kevin used to sit and read the CIA’s World Factbook—he thought the geographical information and fold-out maps were just fantastic. Fast-forward nearly 20 years—he is making maps, doing analysis, and teaching others GIS. From task automation, custom Google Earth integration, data warehouses, imagery collection, and mobile field maps, Kevin has built many systems over the years and looks forward to the next challenge. Join us to learn from and connect with fellow ArcGIS Monitor users. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hi @VishApte_NGIS, > Otherwise, what logic is applied to determine ArcGIS Server is healthy? You could use ArcGIS Monitor, an extension to ArcGIS Enterprise - which provides observability by collecting metrics on the health, performance, and usage of your enterprise GIS. This includes ArcGIS Enterprise and the underlying infrastructure. There are plenty of ArcGIS Monitor customer success stories on this page. Hope this helps,

Hi @HannahSturm, > I am looking for a way to monitor the speed our webmaps are loading from the users perspective. This is not currently possible in ArcGIS Monitor. Monitor does not report web map/web app load times. Please submit a feature enhancement request on the ArcGIS Monitor Ideas forum. > ... if possible how frequent that map is being requested and asked for. In the forthcoming ArcGIS Monitor 2026.0 release, Monitor will report the number of views and sessions for web apps and web maps in registered enterprise portals. This will help admins better understand usage of these portal items. Hope this helps,

Hi @MikoMikmik, > Is there any way ... an alternative name so request counts for these types of services are more meaningful? I believe you can rename the registered feature service component in ArcGIS Monitor. When you select the hosted feature service under the Monitoring tab > Settings subtab > can you select Edit for the Component Details section? I think you should be able to rename the hosted/survey feature service component. In this way, the component name will be more meaningful when configuring elements in analysis views. Hope this helps,

Hi @WalterSimonazzi_VicPol, Apologies for the late reply. I've been out of office on vacation for the last 2 weeks since the Esri Dev & Tech Summit ended. > However, ArcGIS Monitor is consistently failing for this particular ArcGIS Server cluster. It would be helpful if you could please elaborate on this statement. What do you mean by "failing"? Looking at the screenshots in your post, do you mean because the graphs have a status of "no data"? What happens when you run the inventory and metrics Observers manually for the ArcGIS Server component showing this behavior - does Monitor start to collect data for the ArcGIS Server component again? There is some data collection, because the graphs do show some data, although for this one: I agree and it does look like between 4 pm and 12 pm - Monitor stopped collecting data. Did something happen to the host during this time? Maybe patches were applied or perhaps a security scan was run that may have interfered with AM Agent collecting data and sending it back to AM Server? When you restart the AM Agent, does it start to collect data again? > Is ArcGIS Monitor known to struggle or fail when monitoring very busy ArcGIS Server clusters, even when system resources are not constrained? Nope, not to our knowledge. And this statement is pretty broad and suggests ArcGIS Monitor failure with no evidence, nor a valid reproducible case. Please contact Esri Tech Support so they could help investigate further. Hope this helps,

Hi @ChrisBerryman, > ArcGIS Monitor 2025.1 still sending out notifications for metrics where alerts are disabled. Please double check and confirm that you've disabled alerting for the relevant components where you're still seeing notifications. Then please check that the subscribed event that the notification is set to trigger on, is set correctly. If everything seems configured correctly and you are still seeing notifications, even though alerting is disabled - please contact Esri Tech Support so they can investigate and see if this behavior can be reproduced. Hope this helps,

Thanks to all the users who visited the observability kiosk at the Esri 2026 Developer & Technology Summit in Palm Springs, CA this week. It was great to discuss ArcGIS Monitor, answer questions, and get your feedback. Here's a collage of some of the users, And presenters of the two user sessions were gracious to share copies of their presentations with the ArcGIS Monitor community. 1. Enhancing System Insights through ArcGIS Monitor Integration Presented by Jordan DeSimone, Clean Water Services and Kevin Sadrak, dymaptic In this session, we’ll explore how Clean Water Services of Washington County, OR, enhanced their system monitoring by integrating ArcGIS Monitor with their existing cloud monitoring service, DataDog. Attendees will learn the benefits of this integration and gain insights on how to implement ArcGIS Monitor within their own organizations. We’ll highlight the importance of utilizing this powerful, yet underutilized, tool to improve operational performance. 2. Embracing Observability with ArcGIS Monitor: Turning Alerts into Action Presented by Joe Guzi, Stark County GIS Dept This presentation explores how the Stark County (Ohio) GIS Department embraced observability through the implementation of ArcGIS Monitor. We’ll demonstrate how to interpret alerts and transform them into actionable insights that drive smarter decisions. Attendees will learn how Analysis Views can visualize telemetry across key workflows and servers, offering a deeper understanding of system health and performance trends. The session will also share practical tips, tricks, and resources to help you get the most out of ArcGIS Monitor. Thanks @JoeGuziStarkCountyOH , @KevinSadrak , and Jordan DeSimone!

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) serves a 16-county region anchored by the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area, NCTCOG is a voluntary association that promotes cooperation among more than 250 local governments serving more than 8.7 million residents. As the organization’s GIS footprint expanded from a handful of licenses into a full enterprise deployment, the NCTCOG GIS team found its critical infrastructure increasingly difficult to manage. This expansion created an urgent need for a monitoring tool that could provide clear, real-time insight into the entire enterprise framework. The solution, ArcGIS Monitor, enabled NCTCOG to shift from a reactive GIS management approach to a proactive one. ArcGIS Monitor Brings New Insights to New Complexities

Hi @MarkChambers1, For database/geodatabase components based on SQL Server, ArcGIS Monitor queries the "sys.dm_db_partition_stats" view to get information on space usage and row count information. This inconsistency suggests that perhaps you may need to update statistics and/or indexes on the tables. Hope this helps,
