You should use the type of geodatabase that best meets the needs of your business workflow, so using a MS Access personal geodatabase is fine. Hi Tony, FYI: The Geodatabase Toolset (GDBT) for ArcGIS 9.3.1 release only included functionality in ArcCatalog. There was no functional component released for ArcMap. Hi Justin, In the config.xml file for your Viewer, under the <widgetcontainer> subsection, find the following XML code: <widget label="Find an address"   x="70" y="94" preload="open" icon="assets/images/i_target.png"                 config="widgets/Locate/LocateWidget_US.xml"                 url="widgets/Locate/LocateWidget.swf"/> And simply delete this part of the code: preload="open" This will make the "Find an address" widget not auto-load when the Viewer application loads. Hi Ann, You can customize the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex application by simply editing some XML configuration files. This application has been designed with the "non-developer" in mind. You can create your own Web mapping application from scratch using the ArcGIS API for Flex - this will require some developer skills. I'm not 100% sure about the Emergency Management template, as I haven't personally used it. However, it looks like it is configurable (i.e., does not require programming) - but I guess it depends on whether or not it meets your business workflow requirements. I definitely wasn't able to use either FlexViewer 1.3 or 2.0 to quickly deploy a Web mapping application.  In both cases, undocumented (other than sometimes "documented" through Robert Scheitlin's excellent forum posts) "quirks" popped up that required editing files, re-compiling the viewer, and trial & error. ... For the record, the Sample Flex Viewer v.1.3 was always a developer sample and never an officially supported ESRI product. FYI: there is a Flex Viewer v1.3 developer's guide written by ESRI available. The ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 2.0 (beta) does have documentation available on the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex resource center. Hi there, 1. No, geodatabase replication from an ArcGIS 10 GDB to an ArcGIS 9.3 GDB is not a supported workflow. For all replication types, the child replica geodatabase must be the same geodatabase release as or a later release than the parent replica geodatabase. Replication and geodatabase releases 2. Yes, we do support backwards compatibility to transfer data and schema from an ArcGIS 10 GDB to an ArcGIS 9.3 GDB with the XML export/import tools. We are in the process of actively testing the software, addressing any issues/bugs, and collecting feedback from users. Depending on the outcome of the testing and feedback will affect our plans for the "next beta", and the one after that, ... up until final release. Similar to the ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs, the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex application will likely have a more fluid and dynamic release/update cycle. If I'm planning a long term project, do I use the Viewer as a base, or just start from scratch? This would really depend on the business needs of your project. You can use the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex application as is if you want to quickly deploy a Web mapping application. Or, you can use it as a starting template (aka. site starter) to create a custom Web mapping application. Hi Sean, What kind of error(s) are you getting? Can you provide some screen captures? What release versions are the geodatabases? Was it working previously and then it just stopped? If so, did something happen in-between this occurrence? FYI: Technically the Geodatabase Toolset (GDBT) is an unsupported developer sample extension. ... View more
