Hi Brian, Good catch on an error in the help documentation. 🙂 You're right, the screenshot is incorrect. It shows functionality in a beta build that is not included in the 2.1 final release. To be clear, you do not have the ability to change base maps, nor use full screen when editing a geocoded location. We are working to correct this error in the help doc ASAP. Hope this helps,

Hi Adam, When you start to roll out localizations for the Viewer, can a single Viewer switch between multiple languages? ... Will there be a supported workflow for switching languages within the Viewer? "No" to both questions. This is not supported. The recommended procedure to create an application that supports multiple languages is: First build the app in one language. Xcopy the app into separate virtual directories for each language. In each language app, go to the Culture\<lang> folder and copy its contents and paste in the root directory of the application, overwriting existing files. Create a page that redirects to the respective language application depending on either the user???s choice or by detecting the browser culture. What is the role of the .xml configuration files in the Culture subfolders? It simply contains and stores language files used by the Silverlight Viewer. Finally, how would multiple localizations effect Add-In tools? Would my Add-In assembly need its own localization logic and language resource files? In order for an "Add-In" to support multiple cultures, it should use the standard .NET localization procedure of creating resource assemblies for each supported language. Hope this helps,

Hi George, Did you do a complete uninstall of the Silverlight Viewer beta 2 release, before installing final? Some other things to check for: - Did you remove both the Builder and Apps folders in the inetpub/wwwroot directory (in case they did not get removed by the beta 2 uninstall)? - Ensure that both the Builder and Apps folders are no longer registered with IIS? Hope this helps,

@Iain: As far as we know, you should be able to download the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight software without issue. I just tested it now and it works. Can you please try again? @Blair: We pulled the download for the Extensibility SDK to make a minor correction to the download package. It should be available sometime tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Hope this helps,

Hi Jonathan, Any idea how I can get the Silverlight Viewer to look on port 81 ... Did you specify port 81 when you installed the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight? If not, can you try uninstalling, then re-installing the Silverlight Viewer to the correct port? You would specify the port # as defaults for both the Builder and Apps folders. Hope this helps,

Hi James, Where would I get the source code for 2.3 and 2.3.1? Please contact Esri Customer Service to order the DVD media for older releases of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex source code. Also, with Adobe dumping the Flash, how will that affect ESRI and its support of Flex Viewer? Adobe is not "dumping" Flash. Please see this Adobe blog post, Adobe announces important changes to Flex SDK Also, please read this ArcGIS Server blog post, Some thoughts on the direction of the ArcGIS web mapping APIs (JavaScript, Flex, and Silverlight) Hope this helps,
