Hi Zemka, I am trying to display images in pop-up screen in Web Application. It works in ArcGIS online, but i dont know how to do it in arcGIS Manager. I don't believe the ArcGIS Web Applications Manager (i.e., Web ADF app builder) supports creating pop-ups like in the ArcGIS.com Map Viewer. Also, is there any way to add arcGIS online basemap in arcgis Manager - web application? Yes, please review this help topic: Adding ArcGIS Online services to a web application Hope this helps,

Hi Brian, ... It appears that my version is not recognized as being registered, even though the SDE database in which this feature class is stored is registered. Are there some extra steps when publishing a feature service using a versioned feature class? Short answer is "no" to your question. I suspect what happened is this: 1. You defined your data store that references your ArcSDE geodatabase, by referencing a .sde connection file. The connection file referenced a specific version in the geodatabase (e.g., possibly the DEFAULT version). 2. You created a new public version for the trails feature class, and attempt to publish this in a map service with feature access enabled. 3. When ArcMap performs the analyze, it throws the "feature service requires a registered database" error, because it is checking for the specific version in the geodatabase that is specified in the connection file used by your data store. This is a different version than the one being referenced by the trails feature class. Please try defining a new data store, that uses a different .sde connection file - that references your new public version used by the trails feature class. Hope this helps,

Hi Tyler, ... However, I'm not sure what my 'Publisher Folder Hostname' should be? For the Publisher Folder Host Name, specify the name of the machine that is hosting the publisher's folder. FYI, for more details: Registering your data with ArcGIS Server using Manager Q) Is your machine 'MFA-191', the machine that is hosting the source data for your services? Hope this helps,

Ryan and Tom: ... I know we can use the out of the box search feature to search addresses but it is not as accurate as our local address locators and not being a programmer I do not know how to write anything to add this feature. I agree with you Ryan address location services is the most basic of all needs. The next release of the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight (coming very soon) will have OOTB support for custom locators. Hope this helps,

Hi Scott, I am setting up a new server and I need to know if it is worth waiting for the 10.1 compatible version of the Silverlight Builder. Will it be out by the end of next week? We're targeting the next release of the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight for next week, but I can't provide a definitive release date as we are in the process of doing final release testing. If we find an issue during testing, we need to pull the build back and fix the issue, then go through release testing again. Hope this helps,

Hi Andrea, If I were to move my personal geodatabases to store them in ArcSDE for SQL Server Express that is included with my ArcEditor desktop software, does that allow me to have 2 people editing that database at the same time and reconciling changes? Or is that only available with ArcServer ArcSDE? If you only have ArcGIS Desktop - ArcEditor, then you would have a Desktop geodatabase (aka. ArcSDE personal geodatabase) and it supports 1 editor and 2 readers (3 concurrent connections). The other option for an ArcSDE geodatabase implemented on SQL Server Express does require ArcGIS Server Workgroup, and you get a Workgroup geodatabase (aka. ArcSDE workgroup geodatabase). It supports 10 editors and readers (10 concurrent connections). FYI: Multiuser Geodatabase (Esri product page) Both geodatabase options are collectively called 'Database servers' in the help documentation: What are database servers in ArcGIS? Hope this helps,

Hi Ezequias, ... the template created a version pointing to many 3.0 libraries but the application simply does not open. I have the Silverlight 5.0 installed and the application just appears blank. I tried to change my add-in and layout projects to use Silverlight 5 as a target and the application does not compile. If you are using version 1.0.1 of the Silverlight Viewer and version 2.4 of the Viewer extensibility API, you need to use Silverlight 4 and ArcGIS API for Silverlight v2.4 . You can get the Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 here and Silverlight API v2.4 here. It will not be possible to use Silverlight 5 and ArcGIS API for Silverlight v3.0 to develop add-ins until the next version of the Viewer is released. Hope this helps,

Hi Jose, Will the new release install the templates in Visual Studio 2012? No. The ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight v3.0 extensibility template is for Visual Studio 2010. We are planning on supporting Visual Studio 2012 in the next Silverlight Viewer release (targeting later this year/early next year). Hi Ezequias, Is there any problem to use extensibility (2.4) with Client 3.0? No, this is not supported. You will need to upgrade to the ArcGIS v3.0 API for Silverlight. Could you tell me if there is a 3.0 Visual Studio 2010 Viewer template also? Yes, please see my response to Jose above. Hope this helps,

Hi Greg, We have ArcGIS server 10.1 running on a new server. We would like to publish a map service that reads from a 9.2 SDE (oracle) geodatabase on another older server. Is this possible? You'll need ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 to publish to ArcGIS for Server 10.1. FYI: 10.1 clients are not able to connect to pre-9.3 ArcSDE geodatabases: Client and geodatabase compatibility The workflow you describe is not possible. Hope this helps,
