It would be great if the user will be able to insert more than one iterator in the model. Thanks, Ahmad Saleh

Hi Michael, truncate and append seems to be a good choice, I have tried them truncate is very fast, I will shift my work procedure to use truncate rather than delete and append rather than copy. but I am also interested about the size of the geodatabase U.gdb why its getting fat? is the normal delete procedures are not enough to clear the geodatabase! Thanks

Hi Asrujit, Thanks for the prompt reply, glade to hear that this bug has been fixed, as I remember there was another 2 major issues with it. My F.C has almost 100K records, I will try to Truncate of the FCs and see how it works, but I am still curious about the size issue I hope to find an answer let’s wait maybe one of esri’s developers can give a clear answer for this issue Thanks Ahmad

Thanks again guys, Asrujit, Replication is not thing that I want to do in my case, it needs a lot of efforts and time and its useless, imagine that it fails to reflect the edits if they were more than 1000 ! this is one of many limitations that it has. Michael you got the point, I run arcgis server so the data is locked you can’t delete the geodatabase without turning off the Arcgis server, then my entire system (web mapping application, arcgis server) will be down. What should I consider else? Thanks Ahmad

Thanks guys, Joshua compact fails to reduce the size even after deleting the F.C then compress and copy again! The reduction in size is about 100 MB after applying the compact. Asrujit your right dispite the fact that thy have the same number of F.Cs, U.gdb have a lot more files inside it when you show the file properties in windows! Jayanta your right, orphaned files is stayed alive after deleting the F.Cs ! in my daily scenario, 3 editors are connected to an enterprise geodatabase, at the end of the day I delete the old files in the U.gdb and I copy the new F.Cs form the enterprise to U.gdb. After a year my geodatabase became this big! It seems that deleting F.C inside the geodatabase keeps some orphaned files a live and not deleted. How this can be solved. Thanks Ahmad

Hi, File geodatabase are getting fat extremely. I have a FGD with a name “U.gdb”, I have noticed that this DB has a size of 10 G.B, despite the fact that my data is not that big in size, so I decided to copy the F.C’s inside the U.gdb to a newly created geodatabase with a name “U2.gdb” the size of the newly created db decreased immediately to 148 MB. The same data are in both GDBs while the size is extremely different. Compact and Compress File Geodatabase Data fails to reduce the size of the geodatabase. The source of this issue might be because I have an enterprise geodatabase (U.mdf) and regularly I used to delete all F.Cs from U.gdb and copy the mdf F.Cs to U.gdb in order to update my data. What should I do to maintain the same gdb size and avoid the over growing size if the GDB. Thanks Ahmad

Hi No you really dot need a server license, try to go to geoprocessing menu > Environments then go to Parallel processing set the parallel processing factor to 1. Then try to build the overviews again. please be aware that you need to build the mosaic overviews when you change the overview sampling factor from 3 to 5, this is related for my previous answer and has nothing to do with the server license issue. Thanks

Rawan, -the first thing you should try is to do the opposite, try to add the buildings F.C first then add the orthophoto, does it ask for transformation? -Have you checked if all rasters that added to the mosaic have a defined coordinate system (known coordinate system)? best, Ahmad saleh

Dear Dan, Many thanks for the input, but the here ( between the table and the feature class) will not do the job, since the joint will include one value from the table to the feature class, What about other values that have the same ID and should be connected to the same point ?! The organization A is represented as one point on the map but in the stand-alone table there is 4 records the related to A by the ID and here the join will only include join one recored form the table and ignore the others. Thanks

I need to show all of the activates in a certain area, I have the following data But the problem is the the A organization has 8 projects, and for H on 3 projects as shown, and so on. The implemented projects sometimes varies in location and this is easy to map but sometimes they are in the same location such as ( capacity buildings, Institutional Development, Customer relations,….) I am now confused if I should create one point for the “A” organization for example and then link it to a table of the projects because this is the right behavior in creating the database, but the now I care more about viewing data on a PDF map. So what can be done here to show that data in an effective method and managing the database correctly.

Hi Dan and Rebecca, I was reading the document that Dan provided, But I feel confused with these two lines: To publish a raster dataset or raster layer as an image service, you do not need an extension. To publish a mosaic dataset, a document containing a mosaic dataset, or a raster layer containing a mosaic function, you require the Image Extension. Does this means that when I Right Click on a raster or image in the catalog then Publish as image there is no need have an image extension. and if I added the raster or the image to the mxd then published the mxd as image service this means that I need Image extension. Am I right ? Regards, Ahmad

Hi All, I have a Raster catalog that contains a number of images, and I want to publish it using ArcGIS server 10.3.1, when I right click on the Raster catalog I cannot find Share as image service! In the mosaic dataset when I click on the dataset I can see publish as Image service. So the question is How can I published a Raster catalog dataset if it’s possible, and do I need to have an image server extension to publish it?! I cannot find any documentation about the topic.
