Hello, I am trying to write the following python script which removes all shapefiles (any word that ends with .shp) from a list #Assign variables to the shapefiles park="Parks_sd.shp" sewer="Sewer_Main_sd.shp" water="water" street="street" #Create a list of shapefile variables datalist=[park, sewer, water, street] # prints the list before the loop to compare the results print datalist for x in datalist: if x.endswith(".shp"): datalist.remove(x) print datalist But the result looks like this ['Parks_sd.shp', 'Sewer_Main_sd.shp', 'water', 'street'] ['Sewer_Main_sd.shp', 'water', 'street'] the code succeeds to remove the first item in the list but fails to remove the second one! What might be the issue here?

Hi, This is for documentation since many users are looking forward showing one to many relations on a map. In my case the solution was based on Mike Cusi answer which suggests to use Make query Table. Then the second step is to move the overlapping points using disperse markers which suggested by Dan Patterson. Many thanks guys for the help.

Thanks mike, it seem that Make query table is the best solution till now, but it generates new layer that have points over each other. for example if the Organization A has 10 projects in the table it will generates 10 overlaying points in the new layer, how can I move them (offset) the points to be shown on the map as 10 clustered points.

Hi Neil, Thanks for your comment, I am aware that this could be done using python, meanwhile a lot of users can’t write python scripts. This idea was written in order to help those users and to make their life easier. Thanks

Hi Jamal, Please give this a try, it worked with me without any issues. In my case I have the following: a F.C with a name “P” and the foreign key (ID) field name is “keyf” Table contains ID field with name “ID” 1-first when register the F.C please check “register the selected objects with option to move the edits to base” 2 -go to SQL and write this trigger create trigger JamalT on p after update, insert as begin select * from p select * from Stat UPDATE p SET p.enabled=Stat.Status FROM P INNER JOIN Stat ON p.keyf = Stat.ID End 3- Start edit session in Arcmap and Add a point for example, then stop editing, you will notice that the “Enabled” field will automatically updated.

It would be great if the ArcGIS server has the capability of publishing multiple mxds that stored in a folder by right click then publish all. Thanks, Ahmad Saleh

Thanks Jayanta, I have tried this before, the main issue with it the code is name dependent, for every sd that you need to create you should add the service name and workspace! I want a smarter tool or code that iterates all mxd in the file and create sd file. In the link that you provided I should copy every mxd name to the code. Thanks, Ahmad Saleh

Hi I wonder if anyone has a tool or a method that creates service definition files form a folder that contains multiple mxd files. In my case I have a folder that has 76 mxds and I want to create 76 sd files in another folder from the existing mxd. Thanks, Ahmad Saleh

Hi majdoleen, You can host your data in SQL server (mdf) then you can write SQL trigger to calculate X,Y values, this trigger will run automatically when you update your data.

Dear Jamal, Have you tried feature templates (F.T)? if the field f2 has a number of known values lets say (v1,v2,v3) you can create 3 feature templates an each time you can assign deferent value for f2. When the user start editing your F.C he will have 3 F.T and he should select one of them to digitize the point the values of f2 will be entered directly based on what was defined in the feature template. Thanks, Ahmad

Hi Rebecca, Suppose that your server A was suddenly down and you need to move the last version of your Arcgisserver to Server B. I think this tool fails to do this. Thanks

Hi Juan, I tried this before, it seems a good tool to restore the site, but I think that the data source and mxds and the cache should be manually copied before restoring the site , also do you this that this tool can be trusted in case of system failure and after format?. Thanks, Ahmad
