Key highlights include: Enhancing the primary dropdown navigation to include secondary selections. Improving responsiveness when using different screens sizes. Both of these enhancements were based on input from users and will add to the experience for effectively accessing Esri products and Services. Please let the My Esri team know if there are any other areas within the new experience that could be improved. Thanks, Josh

My Esri Release List – Thursday August 24th , 2023 at 5:00pm PST Site Framework & Navigation For accessibility compliance, improvements have been made for when a screen reader is used and to address some color contrast discrepancies. Developer Experience The user interface on the get connected page has been updated where if the user is logged in with an account that is associated to an ADS code, new text shows that guides them to the developer tools (through a direct link) for renewing their subscription. To reduce user confusion when connecting to an ADS code, the status field on the Developer Tools has been removed and updated verbiage has been added regarding accessing the ArcGIS Platform location services and testing environment for ArcGIS Online. An issue has been resolved where after a License File is created, the user is unable to resend or download the License File. License Esri Products & License Files To remove existing confusion when licensing ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Reality, the version option has been removed from the process. A new license deployment type dropdown option has been added in the License Esri products workflow to assist license administrators with reporting on new, upgrade version, or replacement deployment options. This option is also available on the License File page for updating legacy deployments or editing existing ones. Licensing Information Additional filter capabilities and a report option have been added to the License Summary page. For Authorizations, the product list is now ordered ascending by most current version. Manage Users The ability to add a user tag during the invite user process is now available Downloads For Requesting Media, the process has been updated to utilize the ‘Ask Customer Service’ form. To ensure that users understand they may submit their request through this channel, a text bullet has been added for clarity. An issue has been resolved where if a language other than English was selected, the ISO files were ordered incorrectly. Store Purchases New supporting verbiage was added to the fulfilment section for users who have purchased ArcGIS Developer Enterprise Annual Subscription.

@Ann123 Thanks for your questions. When you edit or invite a user in My Esri, you will see all of the available permissions you can apply and if you hover over the information icon it will describe the permission (see below screenshot). We are planning for the future to introduce roles in My Esri where an organization can create their own roles (bundle permissions under them) or utilize templates. This will be something looked at in 2024. For now to organize your users, you can add tags to each describing the role or type of user. You are correct that the My Esri help on the site and documentation supports this information. We also have a free Introduction to My Esri Administration course available. https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/647f7a109631de19e3a4a156/introduction-to-my-esri-administration/ As for ArcGIS Online, you are correct that the two environments have different access rules. Another item Esri is looking at to potentially streamline. Hope this helps, Josh

Moving forward for users to get connected, they must follow their organizations internal guidelines and be invited by their My Esri administrator. Requesting additional Permissions once connected will still be available in My Esri as in this scenario a user has been validated through internal process. The My Esri User interface will be updated to communicate this to customers. To ensure a smooth transition, we are leaving the ability for administrators to complete any open requests that have come in after May 11, 2023 until we have deprecated classic My Esri.

@Anonymous User Thanks for your post and feedback regarding the outdated content. We are trying to uncover all of these places and replace them with new content. I would be very helpful if you could provide the path you followed so I can work with the content team for updating. Also, we do have a new My Esri 101 training course available in the Esri Academy that may help with the ArcGIS Online account questions. That training utilized the new site also.

@MelissaK Thanks for your question regarding the roadmap for deprecating classic My Esri. We have been working hard this year to update the new site with enhancements where we have received feedback from users to ensure functionality is available before we deprecate. That being said, we are getting close to fully transitioning and the hope is to move forward in the coming months. Official communication will go out on a concrete date soon.

Hi Chelsea, Thanks for your question. The initial post was around new 11.1 codes being available in My Esri. I believe what you are referring to is the scenario when editing an existing Enterprise portal file, removing entitlements, and then issuing out a new file and wanting to add the quantities that were removed. For this there has been latency issues on the counts being added back. May I ask how long the update has been? With integrations, it may take up to 50 minutes for those counts to become available. We are working to improving the integration to make this near real time. Josh

Hi Joshua, Thanks for the feedback. I am sorry you find the new UI experience cumbersome. Over the past year we have had the beta site live to seek user feedback and make updates based on any shortcomings. It would be very helpful if you could provide some specifics in the areas you have found unsatisfactory so that we may enhance them as we continue our regularly scheduled releases. As per the Quick Search and filter items mentioned, we are aware and will be striving to have them available in early January. Hope all is well, Josh

Mega Menu The new mega menu helps users find what they are looking for quicker and has the most frequently used workflows accessible through notification badges and interactive dropdowns. Help and Guidance The mega menu has designated help resources that are focused on commonly asked questions, workflows, and provides a place for user to give site feedback. Profile Enhancements were made to the user profile that further ties the experience to permitted features based on the individual. Examples include a ‘Developer’ option if the user is associated to an Annual Developer Subscription, and a ‘Store Purchases’ option for showing individual order and fulfilment details. With the use of inline editing, the experience has been streamlined where a user does not have to go to multiple pages to update their profile information. With the goal of users finding what they are looking for easier, the new model utilizes interactive grids that expand and collapse (+) the display showing detailed information. This practice is used as a standard across the new experience and effectively decreases the amount of click throughs a user needs to accomplish. Example: Training Records Action Icon Selectors Knowing that My Esri is used globally, creating an experience that supports translation can be difficult. Where applicable, new modal driven action icon selections have been added. Example: Technical Support Cases Manage Users From the main mega menu, you can access all users associated to your organization and manage their permissions. On the Manage Users page, the new look allows you to view and update your user’s permissions easier while remaining on the full user’s list page. Additional tools and reporting are available in the Manage Permissions feature such as user tagging, viewing user list in grid format, and viewing changes to user permissions through a log. Software License & Download Management To assist users when choosing the correct options for licensing an Esri product, the experience has been updated to grouping the product licenses and implementing a more user-friendly starting point with the addition of large product icon selectors. A similar experience was created for the downloads page along with the most current versions available from the mega menu dropdown for easy access and consistency. Support The support user experience has been modified to provide a clearer distinction between technical support and customer service support channels. This has been accomplished through updated taxonomy and actionable features displayed under pertinent categories. Developers To move away from the current confusing User Interface experience, the new site has created a unique stand-alone Developer setting. For the scenario when an end user is not connected to My Esri and is sent an email to subscribe to an Annual Developer subscription, once they select the option in the email, they are now taken directly to the new Developer Subscription home landing page. The end user now has an uncoupled interface where they can access all of the software entitlements at the mega menu level that are part of the Annual Developer Subscription. If an end user is connected to My Esri already and is associated to an organization, when accepting access to an Annual Developer Subscription through the email, the experience will send them to the same Developer Subscription landing page, however if they need to access their organizations portal, selecting the My Esri home page icon takes them to the organizations profile page and they can get back through the option under the gear icon.

New User Interface Experience In the current experience, to access the developer features when associated to an Annual Developer Subscription, users go into My Esri and need under the Organizations tab and choose the Developer sub tab. This is the workflow even when an end user is not connected to any Organization. To move away from this confusing User Interface experience, the new site has a unique stand-alone Developer setting. For the scenario when an end user is not connected to My Esri and is sent an email to subscribe to an Annual Developer subscription, once they select the option in the email, they are taken directly to the new Developer Subscription home landing page. The end user now has an uncoupled interface where they can access all of the software entitlements at the mega menu level that are part of the Annual Developer Subscription. Once on the Organizations Profile page, the user can then access permission driven features. Updated Navigation After the initial access to the Annual Developer Subscription via the email. Two options have been added for accessing the developer site. The first is from the user’s profile. A Developer option has been added in the main menu and will show when a user is associated to an Annual Developer Subscription. The second, is under the main gear icon on the My Esri Organization Profile page. Please note that this option will only show when the user’s profile is connected to an organization’s customer number in My Esri. If they are not, the gear will not appear as it is not needed since the user’s main experience is the Developer Subscription environment. With this location being different than the current experience, supporting messaging has been added on the site to help users locate the option.

Managing User Requests From the main mega menu, you will now get an indication through a numeric badge that there are pending user requests waiting to be addressed. Selecting the option will take you to the Manage Requests page. On the Manage Requests page, you can easily review, approve or deny the users request to access My Esri. Manage Permissions From the main mega menu, you can also access all users associated to your organization and manage their permissions. On the Manage Users page, the new look allows you to view and update your user’s permissions easier while remaining on the full user’s list page.
