Hi there, Attempting to configure some applications for end users using Web App Builder. I'm asking to see if there are any known strategies for simplifying the editing experience. This application is intended to primarily for editing the attributes (a "STATUS" field, Complete vs. Not Complete) of a single line feature layer. For simple presentation and tracking experiences. Many of our end users want a simpler interaction where they can: 1) Click on a feature via the map 2) Change the feature's status attribute And then have that be it. Is there some way to initiate a "live" editing session upon opening the Web AppBuilder application? Having to select the Edit widget and leave the Feature Template box open (when it isn't necessary for updating attributes on static geometry), or select the desired feature and then 'Edit' from the pop-up and then change the attributes is a few too many steps. Or if there is another ArcGIS Online application that may serve this use better? Thanks!

Adding my support to this idea. Currently, the way legend items appear inline with the Layer Name creates an awkward visual break in the legend that is difficult to interpret. Having the items either centered or swatches/labels appear below the Layer Name line would be greatly helpful.

I don't know if this is just a default quirk with how ArcGIS Pro handles Legends (which has been a big improvement over ArcMap so far) But one thing that's been bugging me and I've been looking for a way to change is to keep all symbol swatches/labels that fall under a single layer from appearing inline with the Layer Name when fitting the Legend to a strip. An example of what I'm talking about in the legend below: All of the point swatches are part of the same layer - however, I don't like that when "squishing" the legend down it moves the next item after the break to appear inline with the Layer Name. I would much prefer it if the item after the break, (in this case Herb Robert) appeared inline with the first swatch instead (Knotweed Species). i.e. fitting all symbol swatches/labels below the red line in the image below: Does anyone know a way in the Legend settings to get what I'm attempting? Besides just converting the legend to a graphics item that is . . . Thanks!

Thank you for the input, Derrick - exactly what I was looking for. Will be having a meeting with our field teams to see which method is preferred out there. I assume there's no way to use both methods in the same Survey?

Hi there, We've used Survey123 for a long time in our organization and I typically publish new forms at the beginning of every year. Typically we would have Survey123Forms for POlygon records that would allow users to enter a polygon Vertex-by-Vertex. However, after this most recent publish (I design the Surveys is Survey123Connect). The input types were only: A general "shape" sketch which would automatically create a Circle, Square, or Triangle based on the shape of the Sketch Freehand Sketch Is there a location to customize how these Forms receive their shape input? I'd like to be able to add, or replace the general "shape" sketch with the vertex-by-vertex entry. Unsure if the new etnry options are a result of recent update or not. Thank you!

Hi, Doing some metadata editing, I had links to an email account for receiving queries in the Description and Use Limitation sections for metadata on a number of items. I typically write the url link as: "mailto:address@place.org" (without quotes) The hyperlink appears for the text intended, and clicking it opens a new email message - however the 'To' intended recipient adress in the message has a ":25" appended so it fails to send correctly. Has anyone else encountered this and knows of a solution? Should I add some more formatting in the url link to try to rectify? Thanks!

Thanks for the input, @jcarlson. Having just one item in the Portal is a definite goal to streamline things a little better. You bring up an interesting point about Relationship classes. Each one has and is intended to carry forward at most two photo attachments. I'm hoping with the existing GlobalIDs if I were to import the three feature classes to the same .GDB there wouldn't be any conflict or confusion about which which feature class has which related atttachments?

Hi all, Typically around the end of the year I like to reasses our organization's field data collection layers for improvements, schema changes, etc. We used to have a cloud-based Enterprise system that had a EGDB with feature datasets which had each geometry type in it. We had some trouble with that and our field tools so we started using Hosted Feature Services for each geometry.. I transitioned to doing everything in ArcGIS Online this year (for cost and other reasons). We have in the past used hosted feature services to collect data in. We would have one for polygon geometry, one for line geometry, one for point geometry, all with generally the same fields/domains. However, these had been independently uploaded as a separate feature service for each geometry. I'm wondering if it may be more prudent once I've finalized any schema changes to upload the new datasets with each geometry type into the same Hosted Feature Service. So store them in one GDB, publish as one Hosted Feature Service that has Point, Polygon, and Line geometry. Different Hosted Feature Services for AGO can do this with the Build A Layer options, or it could be published from ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap. Anyway, just wondering what others have done and their experience with this type of dataset organization. We like to use Survey123 to do field data collection, so ideally I'd like to be able to point Surveys to each different geometry type in the same feature service if possible, one form for each geomatery. Thanks!

Hi, You may have more success editing the domain list via JSON from the REST endpoint as explained in this article: How To: Add coded value domains to a hosted feature service from a REST endpoint (esri.com) Just be sure to do it during downtime and save a json of the unedited service before you do so. I've since transitioned my organization away from an Enterprise and Portal deployment to totally hosting in ArcGIS Online, which allows easier updates to the Domain values than what I had to content with in Enterprise - but I remember using the REST endpoint to edit coded domain values succesfully. Worked sometimes, didn't work others.

I did try setting the symbology settings and it did populate for one field's domains, but not both. When I tried setting the symbology to use two fields (species, and density). It only popualted symbols for those rows that had data already. I ended up just creating some bum featrues for each species and density class combo and then assigning the symbology once those rows were filled.

Hi, I'm trying to set up an empty layer for creating a set of features that use two values, a Species field and a Density Class field. I've created a series of Domains that I would like the Feature Template to use when creating new features. However, I'm having trouble finding how exactly to assign these values to templates. It seems to only register values that exist in the data, and the feature class doesn't have records that contain that data yet. I can manually create a new Template and assign the specific fields and values I would like that template to use, but can't seem to find where to change the Drawing Symbol. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi David, here's some screenshots and more details about the model I'm attempting. First, the Iteration parameters, with the Hosted Feature Layer as Input and the Name field: Second, the output parameters from the shapefile to feature class tool And here's just the general model overview Thanks!
