Sorry about your issue. I have been able to reproduce this issue on Portal 10.3.1 and confirm this is going to be fixed in the next Portal release. In the meantime, you can fix it by editing the address manually in your web browser. The link that Portal is redirecting you must be something like myserver.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid= but it is missing a part that is called web adapter, it is typically myserver.com/gis/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid= or myserver.com/portal/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid= To know what your web adapter is, look at the address when you are on your My Content page, it should be myserver.com/gis/home/content.html It should be possible to fix this issue once and for all without waiting to update the Portal but for that I invite you to contact esri technical support through Esri Support

It is possible with Map Tour but not with the other applications yet. We are working on modifying such a capability for the March or July 2016 release. When you add images as an item in Online you can only get the link to incorporate them in a story when they the item is shared publicly. The link that you get when the image item is not public expire after a delay (6 hours I think) so it is not safe to include in a story.

No, we still haven't made that configurable in the app, for the customization you need to use '!important' like .mediaBackContainer {
margin-left: -20% !important;
} To be inserted after * CUSTOM CSS RULES */ in index.html. Hope this will help you figure it out.

Welcome to StoryMaps! I tested on an iPhone with iOS 8.2 in Safari and Chrome and it works fine, it looks like this. No idea what it can be, are you using a recent iOS version and Safari?

Hi Mina, Sorry again, this is really strange. I understand you can't share your data, maybe there is a way I can help if you don't mind doing some more test. So can you tell if there is a specific moment during the authoring where the story start to bug? Can you reproduce the issue with any map? It would be really useful if you could maybe try to reproduce the issue with an empty map and dummy text. That way you could share it with me. Otherwise you will have to contact the Esri support, they should be able to assist you, they would try to reproduce it themselves. Thanks

Sorry about your issue, did you insert the image by copy/pasting? Copy/pasting an image should not be authorized but I know that sometimes the app let that goes, the "insert media" button will let you do that: If you use that button you should never see the grey bar and have no problem inserting multiple images.

Having your Map Journal hosted in ArcGIS Online and integrating custom apps through the Main Stage is the workflow we recommend. As you noted there is no way to use ArcGIS Online has an hosting platform for your custom application so the only other workflow is that you also host the Journal on your server. If Web App Builder has in standard a widget that fits your need that would avoid you to create a custom app but that's the same idea. About securing it. As your custom application will be under a different web domain, it won't benefits from the user identity. What we usually recommend is that those application are public if you know there URL. If those application are using Map or Layers that are private, a user that tries to access them directly would be prompted to sign-in. When accessed through the Journal, the user will also unfortunately have to sign-in because that app is not on the same domain that the Journal. For you custom app, if you use the API by default, the identity manager prompt will pop-in, you could also use OAuth (see OAuth Basic | ArcGIS API for JavaScript) this gave you a nicer prompt and one big advantage: the user will only have to sign-in once and not every time he load the Journal like in the first case. Having the user sign-in inside the app is often not well received. Workaround would be to host the Journal yourself and secure it's access through OAuth too, that way user would not get prompted to sign-in for your custom app.

Hi, Unfortunately I'm not able to diagnose completely with that error but looks like if you share it publicly I should be able to reproduce. Could you share the tour publicly? Thanks

This is the expected behavior, we plan to optimize that in the future. From now the first 5 maps of your story are preloaded when you open the app but the others aren't. So when you switch to one of those map, if the map isn't loaded the application will load it and then will have to adjust it's extent depending on the configuration of the tab (is the description/legend present, size of the panel). When the map are preloaded that same behavior happen, it's just that you don't see it. You can reproduce it if you navigate quickly to the 5 tab right after the application is loaded. Note that if all your map have the exact same extent, that option should let you overcome that behavior but you may have to manually adjust all your map extent so that the description panel does not hide part of the area you care about. Note that I haven't been able to test your story as it seems that some of the maps are not shared publicly. You can use My Stories | Story Maps to make sure all is shared properly.

Ok, thanks, that's pretty strange. I will wait for your next message. If you don't see anything special in developer console, making your Tour public and sharing it here would certainly help me diagnose.

Thanks Brady. I identified the issue and will fix with the next release (planned for November 11th), you can track the issue through GitHub When sequentially updating multiple image on an existing tour, the resulting image for the point may be incorrect · Issu… In the meantime, unfortunately there is no other solution than reloading the builder after you update an image. Sorry again for the issue and thanks for following up.

Hi, Sorry about your issue. This should work, the bug fixed with last release was preventing the build to open. Can you make a change to the settings of the application (next to the save button)? Can you change the color of a map marker through the map? Could you open the developer console (usually F12) and see if you have any specific message. Thanks

Hi, That's interesting, to do that with Map Series, you would need some custom development. The only solution in StoryMaps offering that don't require custom development is Map Journal, this may not be a valid option for your story but it will let you do that kind of stuff through the concept of Main Stage Actions. Note that we are planning to add the same feature to Map Series in the near future. You can see that in action in that story through the dashed links https://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=dc91db9f6409462b887ebb1695b9c201&webmap=dd6f7f93d54341a69…
