Ok cool. You should be able to access Map Journal with the Portal server using servername/portal/apps/MapJournal/ ; and remove your /apps/ virtual directory. Reset the SHARING_URL configuration and it should just works!

I have never used federation 😕 Hope my previous message will help. Another thing you can do is look at how other template of the Portal behave, what URL they are using and try to make sure you follow that.

Have you deployed the template in the ArcGIS\Portal\webapps\arcgis#home\webmap\templates\MapJournal folder and use the Portal webserver to access it? You should use the Portal web server to access the template. How do you access your Portal? If it's http://server/arcgis/ , Map Journal should be available at http://server/arcgis/apps/MapJournal/ I recommend you use the Portal web server but if you don't want to do that for some reason. And as your first message about creating a virtual directory call apps let me think, configuring the DEFAULT_SHARING should allow you that configuration. You have to construct manually the sharing URL, it's the base URL of the Portal + /sharing/

That error means that the configuration file is missing or incomplete. Most likely a browser cache issue as the file have changed between version? Do you have an error in the network tab? Same if you clean your browser history? If still failing, please check that the file app/config.js is the one from the zip file.

Hi Chris, Sorry about that issue, it's unfortunate that we missed that. Map Journal since V1.1 support OAuth and JS API 3.9 has no OAuth support built-in. Portal 10.2.2 can only work with JS API 3.9. So your only option with Portal 10.2.2 is to use Map Journal 1.0.2 Release V1.0.2 · Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub still with JS API 3.9. Portal 10.3 will make that easier! I will update GitHub documentation...

Hi Chris, Deploying Map Journal should be as simple as configuring the JS API for you. Do you have any error in the Firefox console and network tab? You can ignore the CSS errors. There is a row of filter Net, CSS, JS, Security), make sure you have Net, JS and Security turned on... Thanks

Hi, Glad you found a workaround. I can't seem to reproduce in the link you gave or using the downloadable version without any modification. Is this title the issue? Maybe the issue only appear in some browser? Thanks

Sounds like your server is not stable. Yes Zoo Babies it not one of our supported template and would require programming knowledge. We distribute it's source code without support ssylvia/zoo-babies · GitHub but you should definitely not consider that option if you can't deploy a Map Tour as that one is way more complex. Good luck!

Works just fine for me using that configuration So it means that your deployment is not correct. maybe delete your folder and try again? Does it work when you use the appid i previously gave you? No the customization of the template that you will do on your computer won't be reflected in the hosted version. You should only use the downloadable for advanced configuration like if you change the header background or replace the arrows icons. The online version provide some possibility of customization through the settings dialog and we don't recommend you use the downloadable version if you are not comfortable with deploying the application on a webserver. We will continue to add more customization in the hosted version, you will benefits from those features as they are deployed in the next months.

Hi Andy, So that's not the exact same error. That's a different issue, your appid doesn't seems to exist in ArcGIS Online. See below you have the same error with hosted Map Tour or with the item page http://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=0bd53d43fb24a5c9d899106b7b4f957 http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=0bd53d43fb24a5c9d899106b7b4f957 How did you create that appid? If you try with that appid 560eeb563fa348b7a91c6e2352bc4cd8 does it work?
