Hi Peter, Glad you fixed your issue. The builder should not have let you paste content that break your Journal. The content that you pasted seems to come from word and is full of markup that does not make it easy to find the source of the issue. I will investigate more. Thanks for letting your Journal up, I have copied it for further investigation.

Hi, Glad that this Map Journal inspired you to do your own. Yes unfortunately you will have to create a scene for every location you want. The Web Scene Viewer does not have yet the ability to position the camera (or use the slide/bookmark that you can configure) through URL parameters. This will come in a further release, maybe for the July release. We will work on fully integrating 3D in StoryMaps as soon as the ArcGIS API for JavaScript is released. So it will just be like choosing the location on a 2D map. Stay tuned and good luck in the meantime

Hi Micah, You are on the good track but yes the sample does not use webmap. I can't find one that have just what you need but anyway Map Journal is doing some work for you and you can access the loaded map using app.map Then do as in the sample find the layer using app.map.getLayer("layer id") add the checbox do .setVisible onclick to get the layers id, look at app.map.layerIds and app.map.graphicsLayerIds

You can customize Map Tour do that quickly by using the MapTour developer extension events and this sample Toggle layer visibility | ArcGIS API for JavaScript. I recommend you add your code in index.html near the end of the file like this

Glad to hear that Publisher can't take ownership only Administrator by default but you could create a custom role based on the Publisher template and add a privilege "Reassign ownership of content" that would let you do that. See Organization roles—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS and Configure roles—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Hi, I am not sure what is your question. What I was trying to say is that if you want multiple users to collaborate on the creation of a StoryMaps, the workflow is that when a user is done, he transfer it to another user. Alternatively Administrator can also take the ownership of any item. So if you make all your user administrator they can collaborate as they want. Depending on the StoryMaps, one or multiple items will be involved in your Story. For a Map Tour there can be up to three: Web Mapping Application, Web map, Feature Service. For Map Journal, Map Series and Swipe/Spyglass even when those application are using web map you don't need to transfer the ownership of those as the builder are not modifying them like Map Tour.

No this would not works through sharing, to allow another user of your Organization to edit your StoryMaps, you have to transfer the ownership of the StoryMaps (Administrator get a "Change Owner" button of the item page). If your StoryMaps is a Map Tour, you also have to transfer the ownership of the associated webmap and Feature Service when applicable.

You can take a look at the Map Journal instructions that are slightly better than the one for Map Tour when it comes to server hosting. In a nutshell, the procedure is only to deploy on a webserver and paste the appid created in ArcGIS Online: Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js · GitHub
