Hi Samiya Al Ismaily, Regarding 1): This already looks good 🙂 Regarding 2): Do the parcels disappear again after having drawn the study area for a Plan or a Project before you click the "Add Plan" / "Add Project" button in the top right corner of the screen? It is expected though that the parcels are no longer displayed in the overview after having clicked the "Add Plan" / "Add Project" button. Regarding 3): I cannot reproduce this behavior with our test dataset. Maybe you can share the parcel dataset with me - either as a through a zipped file geodatabase or through an AGO Feature Layer - so that I can investigate if the issue you are experiencing is caused by the data or by the application? Feel free to drop me a PM on GeoNet or an email. Thank you, Dominik

Hi Samiya Al Ismaily, Thanks for your question. Maybe you can provide some additional information so that we can fully understand the issue you are experiencing with the parcels. Are you expecting the parcels of the whole city to be displayed in the overview of ArcGIS Urban? It is expected behavior that the parcels of the whole city are not shown in the Urban overview. Can you see the parcels if you add a new Plan or Project and then click the "Parcels" button in the blue header bar before starting to draw the study area? If you check the "Parcels" section under the "Layers" tab in the data manager: does the parcels-count that is shown there correspond to the number of parcels you've imported into Urban?

Hi Jason Newsome, Thanks for your question. Zoning, land use, and parcel boundaries can be imported from hosted feature layers. Please be aware that some layers such as the zoning boundaries and the land-use boundaries require that you import zoning types and land use types first. You can also find additional information about the import of data in this section of the ArcGIS Urban online documentation. In the portal item picker that is shown in the screenshot you've shared, you can configure where you want to search for your layers data. If you want to import data from a hosted feature layer that is only available to you, select the "My content" option from the button below the search bar. If you want to search through the whole content that is shared with your ArcGIS Online organization, select the "My organization" option. Let us know if you are having further questions. Kind Regards, Dominik

Hi Gaëtan LAVENU, Smaller geometry edits in CityEngine (such as e.g. moving vertices or rotating the shape) should keep the parcel's edge orientation information. Please note that also in Urban you can lose the parcel's edge information if you for example merge two parcels. The available options for editing parcels in Urban are kept simple intentionally. Providing limited editing capabilities makes it easier to make sure that the topology of the parcels layer (i.e. no overlaps and/or no holes) is persisted. Therefore, there won't be any changes regarding this in Urban 2.0. Thanks, Dominik

Hi Gaëtan LAVENU, Thanks for your question. You are right: in ArcGIS Urban parcels can be split and merged. More advanced parcel edits such as moving vertices, for example, are currently not supported in Urban but can be done in CityEngine. Check the section about the ArcGIS Urban integration in the CityEngine documentation to learn more about how you can bring your plan's data into CityEngine. Thanks, Dominik

Hi thaina mota, Thanks for your question. It sounds like you are working on a very interesting project. With ArcGIS Urban you can search for planned, ongoing as well as for built redevelopment projects within your city. You can create new Plans and Projects, analyze the area within your plan's boundary, and see the zoning regulations that apply there. Additionally, you can set up custom indicators that allow you to display additional contextual information that might be relevant for the planning efforts. I recommend having a quick look at the ArcGIS Urban Channel on YouTube to learn more about the different capabilities of ArcGIS Urban. If you are looking for an Esri product that allows you to build a rather generic web application, it might also be worth to take a look at the ArcGIS Experience Builder. There exists also an Experience Builder community on GeoNet, where you can find a lot of useful resources too. Let us know if you are having further questions. Thanks, Dominik

Hi Dan Campbell, Thanks for your question. Nice catch - you've just brought a little bug to our attention. A fix for this should be deployed with the upcoming 2.0 version of ArcGIS Urban, scheduled to be released mid-June 2020. However, even without a bug in our code, there is one pre-requisite that needs to be met by the existing buildings scene layer: it has to come with an associated feature layer. If you want to learn more about Scene Layers with associated feature layers, I can recommend checking out the corresponding section in the ArcGIS Pro documentation. Until the release of ArcGIS Urban 2.0, I recommend adding the existing buildings layer manually to the exported Web Scene. Please let us know if you are having further questions. Thanks, Dominik

Hi Brian Lee, Cool - thanks for the quick update on your question and where your city currently is regarding the implementation of ArcGIS Urban for supporting your urban planning efforts . Just as a quick heads-up: a new version of Urban is planned to be released mid-June 2020. This upcoming version is going to support land use planning workflows, so stay tuned . Thanks, Dominik

Hi Brian Lee, Thanks for your question and no need to feel sorry about it. Q&A is one of the main purposes of the ArcGIS Urban GeoNet Place 🙂 I'm not quite sure if I fully got your question. Can you please specify a bit what you mean by the data links between uses ? If your question is about how the different types are depending on each other: There is no publicly available diagram that shows the dependencies between the different types that you can define in Urban. But it is not that complicated: Space Use Types: They can be used to restrict allowed usages in Zoning Types They are used to define Building Types Zoning Types: They are referenced by zoning polygons (which you can import from Layers --> Zoning) Building Types: They build-up on the defined Space Use Types Project Status Types: They are referenced by the Projects you are uploading through the Urban data manager. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks, Dominik

Hi Brian Lee, Thank you for your question. You are right that by default there is no edge info stored for parcels. And if nothing is defined as edge info, all parcel edges fall back to the default orientation "side" and the default adjacency "interior". The orientation and adjacency values of parcels can be calculated in CityEngine. Please refer to the CityEngine documentation to learn more about the Compute edge attributes tool. If you want to have EdgeInfo for all parcels of your Urban Model, we suggest calculating the edge attributes of your parcel layer in CityEngine engine first. Afterwards, you can import your parcels into your Urban Model through the Urban Data Manager and define there which source attribute of your parcel layer contains the edge infos that were calculated in CityEngine. Alternatively, you can also calculate edge info per Plan: Create a Plan in Urban Load the Plan's content (Zones, Parcels, Overlays) into CityEngine by using the Urban <-> CityEngine interface in CityEngine Calculate the edge info with the above-mentioned CityEngine tool Sync the Plan's content back to Urban Please refer to the CityEngine documentation to learn more about the ArcGIS Urban integration in CityEngine. Hope this helps :-). Thanks, Dominik

Hi Brian Lee, Thank you for your question. It is actually planned that users will have the possibility to define two different existing buildings layers: - One that is shown with the schematic view. - One that is shown with the satellite view. This functionality is planned to be introduced with the upcoming version of Urban 2.0 - scheduled to be released around mid-June 2020. Other than that you always have the possibility (already with the current 1.1 version of Urban) to bring additional external data to your Urban Model's Overview. You can assemble the layers that you want to have available in Urban in a new web scene and point to that web scene in the "Custom base layers" section of the ArcGIS Urban data manager. The individual layers of that web scene can then be turned on/off via the hamburger menu (the three horizontal lines in the top left corner of the screen) in the Urban Overview. However, "Custom base layers" content can not be masked out in Urban as compared to the existing buildings and existing trees layers. Hope this helps 🙂 Thanks, Dominik

Hi Max Nilsson, Thanks for your question about the Urban Ideas. Ideas are stored outside of the Urban database in a separate "Hub Annotations" layer. If such a layer doesn't exist yet within your ArcGIS Online organization, it gets created automatically when you enable the public engagement in the "Settings" tab of the Urban data manager. There is currently no UI within Urban to edit already placed Ideas but we are continually working on improvements for the public engagement parts of ArcGIS Urban. Stay tuned 🙂 Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Dominik

Hi Providence Adu (PLN), Thanks for the question. In order to use ArcGIS Urban with Mapillary imagery you need to create a Mapillary API-key (a.k.a. access token). Please also refer to the "General Settings" topic (section "Street View") of the ArcGIS Urban documentation. And as a little side note: the product is called "ArcGIS Urban" - not "ArcUrban" 🙂 Thank you very much for your understanding. Thanks, Dominik
