Are you using ArcMap? What are the coordinate values of locations in your Excel file? From what you describe, it doesn't sound like they are in web mercator auxiliary sphere (EPSG 3857). WHen you add the web map first, it sets the coordinate system of the data frame. I'm not positive, but I don't think the excel points get projected on the fly. The fact that you can see the excel points when you add them by themselves most likely means the coordinates don't get projected. If you see the layer in the TOC, right click and zoom to it. Mike

Can you provide the exact account name they are using to sign in? I don't know how they would be seeing an expired account message. This is tied directly to a subscription. Is your subscription a trial that is expiring? You can check on the My Organization page, View Status option. Thanks, Mike

The only documentation is the general documentation available for the JavaScript API. http://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/ You can also post in the JavaScript forums. http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/15-ArcGIS-API-for-JavaScript Thanks, Mike

Shapefiles don't support domains. If you need domains, you need to use 10.1 to publish your data. Thanks, Mike

OK, you do need ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 or greater. You can't publish from earlier versions. MSD files are not supported for upload. In 10.1, you can publish directly, and the service definition file (.SD) is created and uploaded, and a service gets created from it. Without 10.1, you can zip up the contents of a shapefile (all shapefile files, e.g., .shp, .prj, etc in the zip), upload that directly from ArcGIS.com and publish a service from it. Once you have a service, you can add it to a web map. thanks, Mike

it seems like when they created their account they may have signed up for a 30 day trial subscription for an Organizational Account. These trials do expire. They do have the option to convert the trial to a free, public account. The will need to do this from the My Organization page. Thanks, Mike

Are those GDB features true curves? If so, true curves are not supported in hosted feature services. I'm guessing that the export to shapefile from the GDB converts the true curves to vertices. Thanks Mike

When you share your map (I assume web map, not ArcMap MXD) to the organization, they should have access to it via any search, or if you send them the URL to the map. It will not appear anywhere for them in a browse mode, nor in their "My Content." Also, verify that these users are members of the organization, and are not using free, public accounts. Thanks, Mike

From the screenshot, I see you're using a network path. Can you try copying the file to your local computer first? I'm not sure that's what's causing the issue, but... Also, you are browsing for the .SD file, right? This should just work. Note that the SD file must be authored specifically for publishing to "My Hosted Services" on ArcGIS Online and not for a local ArcGIS Server. While you will be able to upload the latter type, you won't be able to publish it as a hosted service. Thanks, Mike

This is supported in Portal for ArcGIS, but not currently in ArcGIS Online. It's something we'd like to support, but it's not on the timeline for the next 6 months... http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/portal-for-arcgis Thanks, Mike

I'd suggest starting with some overview videos in the help... http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/#/Videos/010q00000003000000/ Look for the publishing videos under the section "Working with ArcGIS Online hosted services" thanks, Mike

In general, seeing blank tiles are more the exception than the norm for me... This will be hard to track down if it's a true problem because it's not easily reproducible. Can you try from a different location to rule out your network connection? Thanks, Mike
