Jason, If your feature services are publicly accessible, anyone can edit them. If they are behind your firewall, then they can't be edited. Thanks, Mike

Can you share the rest endpoint of your map services? Are your map services secured (ie with a username and password)? The web map doesn't currently support access to secured services. Also, if your services are behind a firewall, there can be issues as well. Thanks, Mike

ArcGIS Online Map Viewer accessed through ArcGIS.com automatically determines the field type based on the value of the cells. So your field is being interpreted as a date field. Currently, there is no way to change this type. This will be coming later. However, ArcGIS Explorer Online has this ability now. So if you create your map in ArcGIS Explorer Online, you can set the field type. Click the Add Content button then choose Import. Then save your map and it can now be read properly by either client application. Hope this helps, Mike

The enhancements to groups that you note is about allowing a group owner to share public items that they don't own with their groups. For example, if you wanted to include one of the Esri Basemaps as an item in your group, you could now do that, even though you don't own the basemap item. Currently, there is no support for folders inside of groups. Thanks, Mike

@brooke79 - you can add a zipped up shape file as a layer in the web map throught ArcGIS Explorer Online. It will then display in the ArcGIS.com Map Viewer too. We just didn't expose adding shapefiles in the map viewer yet. I think the limit is 1000 features. In Explorer Online, Click the Add Content button. The Import tab is where you'll find the ability to import a shapefile into the map. @altamontegis - No, there is no current support for adding map and layer packages to the web map yet. This capability will be packaged with a new feature, called ArcGIS Online for Organizations which will require a subscription. Your data will then be hosted as a service and this service can be displayed in a web map. Watch for news about this at the UC. Thanks, Mike

It is possible to upload a KML file from your computer as an item in ArcGIS Online, through the Add Item button on My Content. Currently there is a bug when trying to then put the uploaded KML on the Map Viewer. It doesn't work. However, I don't see the same error message you are seeing. Can you list the steps you are doing? The error may be that the KML contains some features not supported. Thanks, Mike

Can you share the URL to the KML so we can try it out? Thanks, Mike Here's some information about KML support in ArcGIS.com map viewer... Considerations for using KML in your map KML was originally created to view features in three-dimensional "Earth" browsers such as Google Earth. It is now supported in a number of two-dimensional web browser clients including the ArcGIS.com map viewer. There are some aspects of KML that do not work well on 2D screens and some limitations to what web browser clients can support. Supported functionality The ArcGIS.com map viewer supports a subset of KML elements and functionality. The list below will expand as ArcGIS Online continues to develop support for KML. Placemarks Network links to import data dynamically Ground overlays Folders Polylines and polygons Styles of polylines and polygons, including color, fill, and opacity Print KML layer Icons Descriptive HTML KMZ (compressed KML, including attached images) Embed KML layer in website Limitations Below are the current limitations of using KML layers in the ArcGIS.com map viewer. See Troubleshooting for details. ArcGIS Online is working to reduce this list in future releases. The following elements do not display in a map: regionated KML, regions inside network links, network links with refresh parameters, screen overlays, and the use of ExtendedData in pop-up descriptions. Ground overlays and network links without refresh properties do not print. KML layers cannot be used as a basemap. KML layers cannot be reordered in the map contents. KML layers do not appear in maps viewed in ArcGIS Explorer Online.

The server stores dates in UTC (Universal Time, Coordinated). The web browser converts the date to local time, which is UTC -8 for California (now -7 due to daylight savings time). Thus, all of your date displays are offset 7 hours earlier. So given a date like 7/7/2011 without a time (midnight) will display as 7/6/2011 5pm. This is just how dates work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time I am assuming that the field in question is actually of type "date". Is this a time aware layer? The layer properties dialog in ArcMap (Time tab) lets you specify a time offset. You might try to enable an offset and serve your map out again. I'm not sure it will work with queries against the data, however, and I didn't try it myself. Another option would be to add a string field that represents the date. The browser won't convert the string field in this case. Thanks, Mike

Thanks for your feedback. There is some underlying bug here. I have found that if I navigate to the Gallery or My Content page from the map, then go back to the Map tab, I now can see the WMS service displayed. We'll take a look to see what's going on. Thanks, Mike

When did you last try to save this map? The ArcGIS.com site was updated last night at 8pm PDT and this issue was addressed. Can you try again now? The problem is that the web map is too large. We increased the size limit, but maybe not enough. What exactly is the 32 bit mode you're talking about? Is the web browser prompting you? What web browser are you using? If you still have the same issue, can you share your web map publicly and post the URL to it on this forum? Thanks, Mike
