If I understand your request correctly, you're saying that you have a hyperlink to an image that's part of your attributes. When you view the attributes, the hyperlink just displays as a hyperlink, but you want to see the actual image. What you need to do is add an image to the optional Popup Media of a popup. When configuring the popup, look to the Popup Media section and add an image. Here you can specify the URL to an image. I noticed on Flickr that any photos displayed outside of flickr must provide a link back to Flickr. This requirement actually made it difficult for me to obtain a link to the actual photo (not the photo description page), which is what you need. This is from the Flickr website and provided as the reason why they no longer provide direct links to photo images...
Do link back to Flickr when you post your Flickr content elsewhere. Flickr makes it possible to post content hosted on Flickr to other web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr. This provides a way to get more information about the content and the photographer.
I was able to find an explicit link to a photo by viewing the HTML code and copying the image src. Maybe there are other ways to do this too, I don't know. Hope this helps, Mike

The Change Symbol option is not available for layers based on ArcGIS Server because the symbology is defined by the map that the service is created from. Thanks, Mike

Time is not supported on shapefiles. There is no standard definition of time for a shapefile. Time is only supported on map services that have time enabled layers in the service itself. For shapefiles, you change the rendering of the entire layer, not a feature at a time like a Map Notes layer. In the TOC, click the little arrow next to the name of the shapefile and click "Change Symbols" Thanks, Mike

The server is returning a 401 error, which means you are not authorized to view it without some security credentials. Even if you have the username and password to access the service, there's no way to enter it in ArcGIS Online. We don't support secured WMS services. Thanks, Mike

Well, I'm no KML expert, but I learned a few things by experimentation... When I looked at the KML file in Google Earth and Google Maps, I was unable to draw the layer using any sort of classification (eg, based on a field value). It seems I can only control the drawing of a feature on a per-feature basis. So I assume the author of this KML went through and picked the polygon fill symbol for each feature. When I opened the KML in Notepad, I saw where ArcGIS Online was getting the text for the legend values. The polygon symbols are defined in the KML and each feature references a symbol. Each symbol has an ID, like "PolyStyle00". I renamed all instances of PolyStyle00 to "Vacant" and that showed up in the legend of ArcGIS Online! So that's a way to make it work. After all that, it would be useful if a map author in ArcGIS Online could edit the legend text. I can write up an enhancement so it's in our system, but realistically, I don't see this being addressed in the near term, based on our current schedule. Thanks, Mike

Some of us have noticed that same issue, but haven't been able to provide a reproducible case to help track down the problem. If you can provide a set of steps that we can use, that would be helpful. Thanks, Mike

Here's a help file from ArcGIS Online. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisonline/help/010q/010q00000060000000.htm When adding CSV files, you need to have x,y coordinates stored in decimal degrees in order to add it to the map. Read the help topic referenced above for what to name the fields in your CSV (or .txt) file. Thanks, Mike

It is possible to use your own basemap for certain layer types, but not currently for shapefiles. This is really an oversight on our part and I've written up an enhancement to fix it. Thanks, Mike

It seems like there is a problem with this shapefile. When I unzip it, it doesn't display properly in ArcGIS Desktop either. Does it display properly for you? I can only see about 5 of the 60 or so polygons in it. I'm not sure what's going on. The scale seems to go down to 1:25. Our basemaps will not have that level of detail because they are world basemaps. Depending on the basemap, we go down to 1:5000, and the most I've ever seen for specific areas is 1:1000. Here's an image that shows our Streets basemap coverage. http://help.arcgis.com/en/data-appliance/4.0/help/basemap/content/resources/images/streetmap40_na_coverage.jpg Thanks, Mike

Well, we didn't want to take functionality away, but we had no other choice. I won't get into the details why, but I agree the situation is not optimal and we are doing our best to improve it. Unfortunately, I have no date as to when intersections will be supported. Thanks, Mike

Yes, we recently changed locators. The new locators don't support this. We are working on improving them, however. Thanks, Mike

You can't add an individual sub-layer inside of a map service. You can only add the whole thing. So the URL you need to specify should be this: (basically remove the "/54" from your URL). gisportal.msl.mt.gov/arcgis/rest/services/application/Yellowstone_Hydrology/MapServer Thanks, Mike

You need to share your map publicly in order for me to see it... From the map, click the Share button. Or from My Content. Also, if you can provide the URL to the item details page, like this: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=1e79439598494713b553f990a4040886 Thanks, Mike

We don't currently support time in KML. It's something we're working on for a future release, however. Here's a help topic on the support we have for KML. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisonline/help/index.html#/About_KML/010q00000066000000/ Thanks, Mike
