The only place to vote is on the ideas site... http://ideas.arcgis.com/ But I hear what you are saying, and agree it would be nice to disable editing. Now, would you expect that on each layer or on the map as a whole? You might also experiment with embedding the map or creating your own application from a template instead. Here's a link to an application template that references the map. Note there is no editing capability. http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/templates/HeaderFooter/chrome/index.html?webmap=7f0a4463a785469299a3227954a23ada Mike

Currently, you can't remove it. We have talked about providing an option, however. On the plus side, anyone who does edit the map can't actually overwrite your map. They can only do a "Save as" to save it as their own map. Mike

No, there is no way to change colors at this time in the ArcGIS.com map viewer. Thanks, Mike

At this time, the ArcGIS.com Map Viewer doesn't show coordinates. We do plan to support that at a future release. There is another client application you can use, ArcGIS Explorer Online, that will show coordinates using the "Measure" tool (see attached image). In ArcGIS.com, when viewing your map, go to the Details panel an you'll see a link to open your map in ArcGIS Explorer Online (see attached image). Thanks, Mike

Yes, that is for ArcGIS Online...my mistake. You might try posting in the ArcGIS Desktop forums instead. Here's a link to the desktop help topic on editing that may be useful. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/What_is_editing/001t00000001000000/ Mike

You can't. That ability is not available in the embedded map. You could write your own page using the ArcGIS JavaScript API... Thanks, Mike

You need to choose the contents of the shapefile in the dropdown list. Perhaps we could change the default as I suspect more people will start to upload shapefiles rather than desktop application templates... Thanks, Mike

You might try cross posting in Explorer Online forums. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to go from Explorer online to ArcGIS.com What exactly do you mean by "when publish time comes"? Mike

Yes, the basemap sets the coordinate system for the web map. You can set the WMS service to be the basemap of your map (there is a checkbox when adding the WMS to the map that says "use as basemap"). If you do so, any data you add over it will need to conform to the coordinate system of the WMS service. If you can configure your WMS service to support the web mercator aux sphere projection, I think it should work. As far as mashing up layers from different sources, there is no magic here...all the data sources need to be able to display in the same coordinate system. If you use one of the provided basemaps, it's web mercator. Or you can use your own basemap. Hope this helps, Mike

I just removed those two parameters you mention. However, I'm no KML expert, so I don't know if that has any other impact. As far as I know, there is no way to remove these parameters automatically when generating a KML through Generate KML. One of my coworkers mentioned the Query ability on the REST endpoint being able to generate KML...but I didn't investigate this further. You might look into it. Hope this helps, Mike

The map viewer in arcgis.com doesn't currently support KML with network links with refresh parameters, which this one has. I edited the KML document (extracted it from the KMZ) and remove the refresh parameters and was able to add it over the map. One question, why are you using KML when you can just add the layer by connecting to your ArcGIS Server directly? Thanks, Mike
