George, if you create separate instances of your applications under a different folder the you should be able to upgrade without effecting your current applications then once you are happy swap them over. you are best to upgrade both your application and widgets to the same version at the same time, running old widgets could cause problems. regards Anthony

You should be able to use a Portal for ArcGIS account for signing in. Portal is now shipped for free with a server advanced licence and at 10.3 it will also be free for a standard licence: UC Q&A | 2014 Esri User Conference my main bug bear is that although Esri are saying portal is now free there is often some sort of installation cost, wether that is money, time or manpower. Nothing is totally free

It depends on what enterprise database it is. I use sql server and have to go into sql server management studio to delete the actual database once i have removed the connection in ArcCatalog.

Matt, That sounds to me that the original projections were not the same. If your countries are appearing really small in the middle of the atlantic ocean then the shapefile was probably originally in decimal degrees and your basemap is in web mercator. If somebody has just changed the projection of the countires and not actually reprojected the data that maybe causing the issue. Try stripping off the projection info of your countires that add a new geographic WGS84 projection to them

Janet, If you publish your features as a hosted feature service to an AGOL organisation account you will be able to use these for disconnected editing in collector. At anytime you can export the features back to a file geodatabase, see here: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/use-services.htm Regards Anthony

I Personally always find the paper version a lot easier to use than any of the different apps I have tried. You can just strike through sessions you don't want to go to, see what's left then make a choice. It's too much effort on the app to add things to your calendar then see what clashes

As far as I can tell collector is limited to the scales you have set in your cache, when you use the javascript API it now makes use if resampling allowing you to zoom in past the lowest cache layer, see this blog: Welcome to Resampling! | ArcGIS Blog
