HI David, User types determine the available capabilities. Roles will still be applied to set the desired privileges for users. ROles applied before the update will be applied after the update. -Kelly

That is correct, I will update the blog to indicate this. ArcGIS Pro can be assigned as an add-on app. If it is already assigned to a level 2 user, it will remain assigned once with the update. An upcoming blog will further outline this workflow.

Hi Zachary, Level 1 users have a cost in ArcGIS Online ($100 US) but are available at no cost in ArcGIS Enterprise. See this blog for details. With Collector for ArcGIS, you require a level 2 user (depending on the version of Portal that you have installed). I'd suggest getting in contact with your Account manager to talk through your specific scenario if you were using Collector for free to understand the path forward when migrating to ArcGIS Enterprise. Overall Level 1 and Level 2 users will convert to Viewer and Creator User types with the same functionality for the same price. In this specific circumstance, I've reached out to your account manager to follow up with specifics. -Kelly

Hi Zachary, Thanks for your questions, User Types will roll out with ArcGIS Online in December and ArcGIS Enterprise in 2019. There is a difference in pricing with level 1 users between ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online, so there will be no changes with this. Level 1 users in ArcGIS Online will convert to Viewer User types for the same price depending on which WebGIS infrastructure that you use. Currently, a level 2 user includes access to field apps like Collector (level 2 users is required to use collector). After the December release of ArcGIS Online, Level 2 users will convert to a Creator which have access to field apps. If you have an existing level 2 account in ArcGIS Enterprise you will still be authorized to access the field apps. The conversion from level 1 and level 2 users to viewer and creator is exactly equivalent. The apps will continue to support both User types for ArcGIS Online users and levels for ArcGIS Enterprise users as there will be a mix of environments. What will be new is some new options for different user types that have access to some of the privileges or apps at a different cost. For more details on the costs of the new user types, get in contact with your account team. Please let us know if you have any additional questions, -Kelly

Hi Steve, The pricing page will be updated with the release as this is a live purchasing page, thus still has the current pricing. User Type quotes and questions can be answered by your account rep, so please get in contact with them if you want to understand more about the pricing before the update. -Kelly

Prior to the December 2018 update of ArcGIS Online, capabilities and identity were determined by user levels (Level 1 and Level 2), allowing ArcGIS Online members to view content or have access to all capabilities within ArcGIS Online. Our user community had asked for a wider variety of capabilities and apps. To meet these requirements, ArcGIS is evolving levels to user types. User types are a combination of identity, capabilities and apps that align with the needs of typical members in an organization. Learn more by reading this ArcGIS Blog

Hello, It appears that the layers are rendering at different speeds. Does this always happen when changing zoom levels? Is layer optimization enabled? How many vertices are there with each layer. If the boundaries and symbology isn't updating, I'd suggest using tile layers as they can render complex geometry faster. -Kelly

HI Rick, DO yo want to disable batch geocoding but still allow users to batch geocode or is there other functionality that you would like your users to access from the geocoding service? As a best practice, we recommend controlling access to the geocoding service through roles and privileges as mentioned above. Could you provide some additional details on what you want your users to be able to accomplish and not accomplish? Thanks, Kelly

This isn't related to license expiration. You can search ArcGIS Online content and access the help without a license. IT looks like your browser may be pointed to a local website instead of our public help. I'd suggest verifying the link and checking with your IT department to look into why this is going to the wrong location. Thanks Kelly
