Hi Tracy, I spoke with our team again and they shared this: "Many government agencies have blocks on their browsers. The issue does not stop them from launching the course, but it blocks our ability to capture and record the user's progress in the course. We have also found this to be more of a problem if they are using IE instead of FireFox or Chrome. Switching browsers may also help, but not guaranteed." If this seems like something that may impact you, we suggest you try accessing the course again using Chrome or Firefox. And we do show that you have two ArcGIS accounts. If you'd like to know the username on the second account, email me at sboden@esri.com. I hope this information is helpful, let us know if you're able to access the course and navigate freely through it.

Hi again, Tracy. Our team pointed out that if you have multiple ArcGIS accounts, you may have accidentally started/continued the course at different times using different accounts. You might try signing in with a different ArcGIS account to see if you can access all portions of the course—because our web course design does support this (once completed, you should be able to launch the course and see any of the content). When you see the Start Over button, it may be that you're signed in with the account that didn't complete the course.

Hi @GirishNair , yes, all Esri technical certification exams have multiple choice questions. You can get detailed information about the ArcGIS Pro Associate 2101 exam at https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/611c203a6db91a4360495f74/arcgis-pro-associate-2101/.

Hi Mark, you maybe eligible for a 40% discount on the lidar course, but you'll need to confirm that OSU has an Esri Education Institution Agreement or a similar license in place that includes the instructor-led training discount. Check with your GIS administrator, professor, or head over to the Education community. I'm sure one of the Esri Education team members can tell you. https://community.esri.com/t5/higher-education/ct-p/higher-education

Hi @DerekBernard, you've gotten great advice here to move forward. This article may spark useful ideas on getting department leaders interested in how GIS could support their priorities: https://www.esri.com/about/newsroom/arcuser/lascruces/.

Today marks the beginning of Geography Awareness Week in the U.S. To recognize the essential role that geographers and GIS professionals play in creating data-driven insight and decision support in our increasingly complex world, Esri is offering a discount on Training Passes purchased online this week only. As ArcGIS capabilities continue to grow and organizations continue to expand access to users beyond the traditional GIS roles, we believe training is essential to reap the most benefits from the technology. If your organization is aiming to develop geospatial literacy and ArcGIS skills across the enterprise, we hope you take advantage of this special offer (view details here). But mostly, we want to thank the GIS community for their passion and dedication to making a positive impact. Happy Geography Awareness Week to all!

Hi Patrick, "Esri access" is different from "Esri e-learning access" so that may be where the confusion lies. "Esri access" is required to access Training, Esri Community, My Esri, and add comments to ArcGIS blog posts. ArcGIS Online administrators manage Esri access for their organizational members. For ArcGIS Enterprise, your understanding is correct: to provide ArcGIS Enterprise users with e-Learning access at Esri Academy, they will need to have an ArcGIS public account and you will need to invite them to connect to your My Esri organization if they're not already connected (as stated in the post above, you can use the email tool at My Esri > My Organizations > Users > Invite Users). Users will be connected when they click the link in the email and sign in with their ArcGIS public account, and e-Learning access at Esri Academy will be enabled by default. If you've already invited users and they're not showing up in your My Esri organization, they may not have clicked the link in your email invitation (which contains a token) or the token may have expired because they didn't respond in time. You can send another invitation to those users. I hope this helps.

At the GIS Managers Summit in July, attendees were able to submit questions for our live panel. While we had some great answers, there were dozens of questions we didn’t have time for, so we’re going to answer them here!
Our panelists will be posting, Q&A-style, over the next several weeks, so check back here regularly! This week, Esri's Justin Ogden answers questions about skills development.
Q: How can I get connected with an Esri training consultant for my organization?
A: Easy! Send me an email (jogden@esri.com) and I'll find the dedicated training consultant for your organization.
Q: How do you address team and talent development when you have a mix of new professionals just entering the workforce and staff who have years of experience with GIS?
A: Great question. It's good to see that you're recognizing the exciting dynamics that new professionals bring into the workforce. I've encountered similar situations and have found a few effective ways to address these team development and talent development challenges.
Consider organizing regular workshops of knowledge-sharing sessions. New tech trends can be introduced and discussed during these sessions. They can be led by both the new professionals and the experienced ones. It's a fantastic way to keep everyone updated on the latest innovations and ensures that expertise is spread throughout the team.
Recognize that everyone's learning curve is different. Tailor training programs that cater to both the tech-savvy new professionals and those who might be less familiar with certain technology.
Keep communication channels open. Regular feedback sessions can help address any concerns, challenges, or even suggestions from both sides. Sometimes, new professionals might feel hesitant to speak up, fearing they might be stepping on toes. Creating a safe space for open dialog is crucial.
Q: How can managers leverage training when they're unable to add users to the organization to use the products due to limited resources?
A: In situations like this, you can still make the most of the available training materials and resources. Here's how you might approach this challenge:
Start with publicly accessible self-paced training. This includes Esri massive open online courses (MOOCs), which include free access to ArcGIS software for use in the course; live and recorded training seminars at Esri Academy, and short video tutorials that team members can access without needing direct access to a product. Also, check out the instructor tips and tricks videos and blogs over on the Esri Training Community.
Encourage skill transfer. If you have a smaller group of individuals who do have access to the product, encourage them to become "internal trainers." They can then disseminate their knowledge to the wider team through workshops, presentations, or even one-on-one coaching.
Advocate for resources. While this might not be an immediate solution, advocating for additional resources, licenses, or training budget could help address this limitation in the long term. Highlight the benefits of having a well-trained team and the potential improvements it could bring to your organization. Show how this investment will save time and resources.

Hi @Oscar3a , these are essentially the same (they include the same software products, access to unlimited e-Learning at Esri Academy, and they're for noncommercial use). ArcGIS for Student Use is great for academic projects and building a GIS portfolio to share with potential employers. ArcGIS for Personal Use is great for professionals who want to volunteer their GIS expertise to help their communities, grow their ArcGIS skills at home, etc.
