Is this a multi-part polyline in the source data? If not, I would suggest pre-processing the data to create multi-part polylines which you could do with a python script on say a weekly basis or whatever interval the data gets updated at.

I am writing a python script to update SDE connections in mxds including standalone tables, but I need to find out the existing service properties so I can correctly update them. Service properties are available for layer objects, but I cannot seem to find these properties for a tableview. Does anyone know if this capability exists for python run with ArcMap v10.2.0?

Are you sure nothing changed on your system (e.g. perhaps Automatic Windows Updates which can sometimes cause unexpected problems)? Can your IT Dept. make changes without informing endusers? Can you test your script on another computer?

Can you provide the screenshot that I asked for in a previous post? I would like to see exactly how you are calling the python script directly. Do you have ArcGIS Server software installed on this machine as well?

Is your ArcReader project basically a view only application? If so (and if you have ArcGIS Server), might you consider creating a FlexViewer application to replace ArcReader. There are many configurable FlexViewer widgets that don't require any programming that would make this a fairly simple and straight forward process. This would remove the dependency of having to install ArcReader software on client machines (Not sure how big of a deal this is to you). You might also consider AGOL, but it currently has some labeling deficiencies that might make it more difficult to duplicate your current ArcReader project.

Did ESRI even provide a ballpark timeframe of when this functionality might be available with ArcPy? My organization is looking to implement this type of functionality instead of truncating and appending entire feature classes, so this functionality is of interest to me.

I have both ArcMap 10.2 and 10.2.1 at my office. I can only find the Alter Field tool at Data Management Tools->Fields on the v10.2.1 machine. Could you have possibly removed this tool from the toolbox? Maybe the toolbox got corrupted. I would suggest renaming your normal.mxt to see if the tool is then available. Try installing v10.2.1 on another machine at your office and see if the Alter Field tool is available there.

I thought ESRI was going to fix the Server toolbox at v10.2.1, but since it is not working for you at that version this bug has not yet been fixed. You might want to indicate that your issue was answered so others can access your thread to solve the same issue.

Are you trying to manage your cache tiles using the Server ArcToolbox tools? If so, there is a bug with this tool where the scales do not populate. The workaround is to access the tiles by right-clicking on the mapservice in ArcCatalog (using at least a publishing connection) then select Manage Cache and then Manage Tiles. The scales should now be populated correctly.

Jeff F: Did you try installing the 32 bit version of Oracle Client on the ArcGIS Server? I ask because even though my organization has an ArcGIS Server server that is 64 bit, we still used a 32 bit Oracle Client (Its been working for years). The 32 bit Oracle Client has been around longer, so it might be that there are still some bugs to work out with the 64 bit environment.
