– It would be great if you could save your drawing/dimensioning settings rather than having to reset them every time you go back in to do a drawing.

When a user opens a widget panel, it would be helpful if the icon on the toolbar changed so the user could easily tell what widget is opened

See attached pictures.

I'd love to have the option to select if a feature query is open or collapsed by default against a layer.  This will help people with smaller screens to quickly navigate to the important information rather than scrolling down a page.  Similar how you can choose if a group is collapsed or expanded within Survey123.

It would be great if the save and share data options honoured layers added through the 'add data' tool.

We are trying to keep our maps slim but have added a tonne of our layers as well as registered layers from other organisations into the add data group.  If individuals could save their map preferences which included some of these layers added within the maps would save us from having to create individual maps per user or save them from having to add the layer each time.

It would be awesome to add the 'Select by Location' functionality to the select tool.

This would be a great tool for our teams to be able to select properties impacted by other layers such as all properties that have Significant Natural Areas within them.  Or a combo of spatial and attributes - properties which are within the industrial zone.

It would be really useful to create organisation wide bookmarks which are then inherited by each map within the Local Maps gallery.  This will save us having to re-create the bookmarks every time we make a new map and also gets around the fact that our users can't keep their self generated bookmarks due to it being stored against the browser rather than the user (this is wiped every time they leave the browser).

Instead of being able to enable/disable the pop-up panel for the entire LocalMaps site, it would be good to be able to set it for each map.

For example, in some maps with a lot of info in the pop up, it would be better to use the pop up panel. In another map where there is little info in the pop up a standard pop up would be better.

When embedding Localmaps apps, it would be nice if there was a special URL parameter available which minimised the interface a bit.

I've attached an example where we'd like to embed a Localmaps app into a page on our council website. In this case the header itself is quite large, and you can't even read the title of the app. This is not a great experience for end users.

If there was a way to add something like &ui=min to the end of the URL and thus change the header size/icon sizes/font size, that could be really useful!

This sort of functionality already exists for ArcGIS Online 3D scenes which is a great feature.

Cheers,

John

I'd love to be able to display two fields when I'm searching for something.  For example I might be searching a valuation ID, but it would be useful to have the address returned as well as the valuation ID for quickly assessing that the search is returning the right items.

When creating a report in LocalMaps admin, any related records should be automatically detected as presented as a layer query in the drop down box. Then the users can determine what fields that they want to display from related records.

When using the select widget in a map with many selectable layers, sometimes finding the layer with the selection can be a time consuming process! I mainly found this an issue whilst using the Select by Attributes option, but still applies to the other Select by options too.

My idea is to include all the layers with at least one feature selected to feature at the top of the widget, as these are likely the features most interested to analyse at the time of selection. Would save a lot of time scrolling and trying to find the particular layer or any non-zero numbers!

It would be great if the Localmaps Report tool handled basic HTML or images within the element options.

For example, when adding a "Text" element, it'd be good if there was an inline editor available to insert images or other special formatting into the report body. An example could be needing to include an image of a complicated legend or graph which would be of relevance to a map in the report.

Cheers,

John

I'd like to be able to change the width of the docked popup box on the right hand side of the screen from 350px to 750px for one particular map. It'd be great if there was a Custom CSS text box on the admin page for each map (the page where you choose the widgets etc) which would enable you to change this width and also let you configure how many other features appear in the app.

I've seen a similar Custom CSS box in the ESRI Minimalist web app (see image below).

I'm using Localmaps 2.2.

When selecting multiple features that are not contiguous (not adjacent) using add in the select widget, is it possible to add a quick key like 'ctrl' to add features rather then having to go back to select tool menu each time to add an additional feature to the selection?

Our users would like to select several land parcel that are not adjoining and would prefer a quick key option. Otherwise is there is a better workflow to add features to a selection?

There is a small inconsistency when measuring WGS84 coordinates depending on the method used.

If using the Draw/Measure panel the lat/long come back with 6 decimal places.

If using the coordinates widget its only 2 decimal places. Can this be increased to 6 so they are the same?

Also one is displayed as lat/long and one as long/lat. Can they both be ordered long/lat as thats consistent with all the other coordinate measurements.

It would be useful if search results on a search query with multiple results could display in a search results window or the attribute table after the search had been run.

For example, if I search for something that has multiple results with the same search query, then the map will zoom to the full extent of all the search results and will highlight them. If the features are small or there are many results, it is hard to see where they are and how many there are.

This would be useful when searching something like Property Owner. If John Smith owns 5 properties, then having a table with the 5 search results display that the user could then select and zoom to would be easier than the map zooming to the full extent of the 5 properties and highlight them. Also currently if the user selects one of those properties the outline on the others will clear, and the search has to be re-run to find the others again.

The select widget is very complicated for most of our users, too many clicks and often the select by attribute confuses non-GIS users.

Our users want to #draw a polygon around a building and then add a #buffer for a setback distance.  These are frequently used by our building department for consents and enforcement.  They require the ability to have both the drawn polygon and buffer zone visible in the map.  Currently the buffer functionality in the select tool removes the drawn polygon when it shows the results and only the buffer is shown (along with the selected features).

Adding buffer functionality to the draw tool would be really useful.

Toggle Layers - We would like to publish a viewer for historic aerial images, but ideally needs to have only one image layer on at a time.

For example, if the 1947 aerial image layer is turned on, all other aerial image layers are turned off.

Is this feasible ?

Thanks

David

ArcGIS Online has introduced the idea of a shared theme. We should utilize this to drive the themes in LocalMaps rather than having to enter details again for this information.
