Can anyone help with importing gpx files and converting them from GCS_WGS_1984 to British National Grid so that I can overlay them on the OS mapping I have? I'm very new to ArcGIS (2 weeks) and have never used python.

Thank you,
Ian.

Not sure if now ArcGIS will do the conversion, but there are plenty of free online utilities that can convert to shapefile....and they're easy to use.  Been a while, but I think I used tools at GPS Visualizer (or GPS Babel), all free and informative:

Anyway, this too:

EDIT:
Ahhh, looks like a tool for that is packaged in the Conversion toolbox at 10.1:

Thanks for the quick response Wayne. I didn't have much luck with the ArcGIS tools (probably operator error) but I did find a batch conversion tool that worked well enough for me.

Ian,

Can you elaborate on your problems with the ArcGIS tools?
Problems getting them setup, or problems using/converting?

If you got the tool setup and it didnt produce proper output, would you email me a GPX file so I can see whats up?

As a follow up to anyone else who reads this thread...
Ian sent me his GPX file and we determined that it had Routes inside - something the tool doesn't currently support.
The following enhancement was logged: NIM086201 - Support RTE tag (routes) when converting GPX to Features
