Designed specifically for teachers and students, MapMaker is free and runs on lightweight devices such as tablets and laptops.

If you’ve had the chance to explore with MapMaker and find yourself with questions or suggestions for additional data or capabilities that would improve the tool for you and your students, we want to hear from you!

Esri Community is a global community of Esri users where you can find solutions, share ideas, and collaborate to solve problems with GIS. One of the many benefits of Esri Community is that both your peers and Esri employees answer questions and provide feedback, so you’ll hear from other educators who understand your needs.

You can easily ask questions or provide ideas and feedback about MapMaker using the Questions and Ideas boards within Esri Community. Boards in Esri Community are a great tool so you can subscribe to a specific area of interest (like MapMaker) and be notified when there are updates to that board. Our MapMaker boards are very easy to locate in Esri Community. From the home page, select ‘All Communities’ in the top bar. Go to ‘Industries’, then select ‘Education’.

Got Questions?

The NatGeo MapMaker Questions board is a safe space to ask questions about how MapMaker works or get help if you’re stuck. . If you’ve asked a question, you can expect to receive a response from one of our team members in a timely manner. When you’ve received a response to your question, you will receive a red notification (upper right of your screen) within Esri Community.

Once you have received a response to your question, you may notice a ‘green’ checkmark next to the response to your question. This means, that the response or ‘solution’ is verified for your question.

Got Ideas?

The NatGeo MapMaker Ideas board provides a safe space for you to help shape the future of MapMaker. Whether you’re giving kudos to other community members’ ideas, adding your use case in the comments, or submitting original ideas, we value your contributions!  Your feedback is important to us and we take it seriously.

UpVoteing or Kudos on Ideas Boards are for if you feel "the idea would add value." Internally at Esri, we look at total number of kudos to determine what we can implement. You are not limited to only adding kudos to your top Ideas.

If you think a particular idea is valuable and would provide a better experience for you in the application, give it a kudo, even if it is lower priority for you personally. Kudos are a great way for Esri to gauge Idea popularity, so we can prioritize changes that will impact more people who use our products.
