Hi Data Pipelines team,

I recently came across a strange error when working on setting up a new Pipeline.

When enabling Editor Tracking on my output layer, the Pipeline throws this error:
Message code: ADP_102139

Amanda__Huber_0-1764185628459.png

Amanda__Huber_1-1764185746525.png

If I turn off editor tracking, the data previews with no issues/errors.

I was unable to find anything about this in the documentation. Is this a bug or by design?

Thanks,

Amanda Huber

Hi @Amanda__Huber,

Correct, a layer with editor tracking enabled can't be appended to when specifying a uniquely identifying field. It looks like we missed that limitation in our documentation. I'll make a note to add it.

Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for reporting this!

Duncan

Hi @DuncanMackey ,

Thanks for your response. Can you explain why Pipelines can't use editor tracking with unique ID field?
In addition for our project needs for this, I see a lot of value in this for others.

Thanks,

Being able to this would be super useful. I can understand, from a "data integrity" point of view why it may not exist, however, updating status records or creating updates from a calculated matrix into an inspection etc would be massively beneficial.

Understood, thank you both for the feedback. It's currently a limitation with the append operation that we use for writing to feature layers, but I've taken note of your requests and we will look for a solution! I agree that it would be a very useful addition.

Thanks both,

Duncan
