Publishing a Map to ArcReader

Hi, I am trying to publish a map in ArcMap to a shared folder on our network here to access on ArcReader on another computer. I have published the map successfully, and can easily pull it up in ArcReader on my machine, but when I try to access the same document on another machine, ArcReader throws up "an unknown error has occurred while loading document" and nothing is loaded.

Does anyone have any ideas or past experiences that can shed some light on this situation? Thanks in advance.

Are all the versions and service packs the same?

Has the location of the pmf file been altered?

Does the other enduser have access to both the pmf and the data.  In theory, if they don't have at least read access to the data then they will not be able to open the map.  Granted that also depends upon how you published the map, etc.

Make sure the user of 2nd machine have permission on the pmf and folder.
