Hi MK! I gained this certification in January this year. Before you can register for the exam you do have to already be certified with a “core” Esri exam. If you look at their certificate site, you can find the list of those pretty easily. There are quite a few.

After you have a core certification, you can then register for the UN “specialty” certification which is about half the length and price.

The website also has some pretty good general details on the type of topics that will be tested. I would recommend taking both of Esri’s instructor-led trainings in preparation.

Hi MK,

I would email Esri Inc to double check. There is an email link on the UN cert webpage. The reason is that I have been inquiring about this certification too this week and a rep from Esri Inc said there was no pre-reqs. All I had to do was purchase a voucher to be used at any time I like when I'm ready to do the exam.

Good Luck

There is no requirements/core certification requirementst in order for an candidates to take any certification. You may take any certification exam that you think matches your skill and experience level.ertification.

Hi Heidi, thank You for your response. Which "core" ESRI exam do you mean? I looked on wbsite with its list and there are a lot of statements in core list. Thank you a lot. And congratulate to pass the certification.
