Default Text Font Color

I am building a form where the user wants the default text to be red, and ideally when the user replaces the default text it would turn black. Is it possible at all to control the color of the answer? I can't even figure that out.

That is a good solution. I saw a thread where esri said they have an enhancement request to dynamically control the font color of the answer. In the web app you can control the answer font color, so it's weird you can't do it in connect. This is a cool solution though, hopefully it'll give the field users what they need for now! Thank you!
