Can the inbox be viewed without logging into ArcGIS online?
When sharing a public survey (the URL under the collaborate tab) the user bypasses the esri login screen and downloads the survey in the app. Once the survey is downloaded, the inbox icon appears (as configured in survey123 connect) however, no survey results are visible. If the refresh button is selected, the app prompts a login to ArcGIS online. Is this expected behavior?
Thanks,

Hey James,
Would you happen to have an update to whether or not the public can access the Inbox of Survey123? As it stands I am being prompted for a login even though the survey is shared with Everyone and I'v checked of Add and update records. Obviously it's still not available. Do you have any idea if or when this functionality will be made available.
My survey will be used by crop specialists who will be monitoring the spread of cereal leaf beetle. I have a series of repeat questions set up around beetle counts based on various visits throughout the growing season.

Hi Dan,
There is not any update on allowing public surveys to use the Inbox. From your description, it sounds like you don't want a truly public survey, you would want to restrict it to just your crop specialists.
Hey James,
Thank you for getting back to me. We are currently testing this functionality with our specialists but the ultimate end goal is to have farmers use this tool to report their CLB counts. The main reason why I decided to use the Inbox in the first place was so that our users would just have to enter in their field information once and come back to that same field to add their counts throughout the growing season.
Alternatively they would have to submit a net new survey every time they are back in the field doing observations. If there's an alternative way to capture related (repeated) data I would definitely be open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks again for your help James
Rather than inboxing, I would like to see a refresh option on public surveys. We make minor changes to lists and to webhooks, it would be great if people could just refresh the survey rather than deleting it and having to dredge up the original link to re-download.
Hi James,
We currently have an existing enhancement in our backlog related to the behavior you describe. I will add your comments to it.
Best,
Brandon
Thanks Mate, looking forward to when this comes to fruition.
For our organisation, the inbox is needed in our public survey for the specific reason that people are losing all they previously sent survey when we do a minor update on the survey (because they have to delete it in order to update). If the update fonctionaly is enhanced, then a public inbox might be less needed. But, in fact, we would also need an update on the "Sent" folder fonctionality, because their would still be a potential for lost data on our survayors devices. See the Edit I made to my post here that explain the problem: https://community.esri.com/thread/220216-survey123-ui-enhancement
Hi Nicolas,
Why are the users needing to delete the survey to update it? You should be able to download the survey and update with our needing to remove it first.
Hi James,
If the survey is already on their device, when users access it via the link it opens the existing survey on the device, it does not refresh the survey. If we push an update, the only way to get it down to the device is to remove the survey and re-download.
I just tested again and the behavior described by James Wilson is correct. I am testing using Survey123 version 3.0.134 on windows 7.
EDIT: I just tested with Survey123 version 3.0.149 and the same behavior is seen. Survey123 is opened as an anonymous user and the survey is public.
