The next update to ArcGIS QuickCapture is scheduled for release in early August 2021.  This article describes its highlights and how you can access the Beta builds to try everything out before the official release.

One observation-multiple photos

Up until this release, you could only associate a single photo with a field observation. Starting with version 1.10, you can configure your QuickCapture projects so users can associate more than one photo with an observation. For example, if you are documenting a water leak, you can set the exact geographic location of the leak and then associate multiple photos of the event.  From QuickCapture designer you will be able to configure your project to define exactly how many photos can users associate with an observation. For example, a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5, a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 3, etc.

Multiple project user inputs

Configure your QuickCapture projects so end users can enter more than one project user input. This handy feature allows you to collect richer information without compromising the rapid data collection experience.

A project user input is a dialog used to collect certain information from the user. For example, in a search and rescue operation you may want to use a project user input to collect the field user's Team, District and Cost Center. For a pavement condition assessment, the project user input could allow the field worker to indicate the name of the road, or the cost center associated with the task.

Data in project user inputs is entered prior to data collection. When new features are collected project user inputs can be used to auto-populate fields.

Configurable auto-send policy

Administrators of ArcGIS can now configure the default auto-send policy to be used by the ArcGIS QuickCapture mobile app. The auto-send policy determines how often the mobile app should upload data into ArcGIS.  The default configuration is every 30 seconds, but you can now choose a more aggressive interval or even turn off auto-send completely.

Once an auto-send interval is set by the ArcGIS Administrator, this setting will apply to all field users from the organization.
