I was attempting to turn indexing on for enterprise geodatabases to have the ability to search them. However, when I enabled indexing (Project tab -> Options -> Indexing), I can no longer view the feature datasets/classes/tables through Catalog. This is in Pro 3.3.1.
Thinking that it may be that it just takes time, I let it sit overnight. I even tried the trusty restart of the computer, to no avail.
It may be that I am out of practice and have forgotten something pertinent that I learned years ago. Does anyone know the reasoning behind why it's doing this? I feel like I have come close with some Google searches, but I have not found the actual reason as to why.

UPDATE: Another user in my office is able to enable indexing with no issues in viewing the database in the catalog. This makes me even more interested in what the issue could be with my machine.
