I uploaded a zipped File Geodatabase to ArcGIS Online.  It uploaded successfully and it shows up in My Content.  My intention was to add layers in the File GDB to an Arc Online map. But Arc Online won't let me do so.  There is no option to add it to the ArcGIS Online map viewer, and it will not show up in a search when adding data.  The only thing I can seem to do with the file GDB is download or delete it.

What am I missing here?  It would seem logical that, if I can uplad my file GDB to Arc Online, I'd expect I can add that data to a map.

Hi Guys,

Am I missing something obvious? You can upload a file geodatase (with domains ect) but you cant add it to a map? what would be the point then? Can you achieve this using 10.1 or do you have to be running 10.2?
Is there not another way of uploading a gdb and creating an online map? Or can you only upload shapefiles?

Many Thanks!

You can now upload a geodatabase and share it as a service, which allows you to view the data on the map.  The problem I am experiencing now is that the service generated from the uploaded geodatabase does not honor the geodatabase domains...  Does anyone have a solution for this?

I guess this is not an issue for users at 10.1 and beyond as they can simply 'share as' from ArcDesktop.  Unfortunately I am working with 10.0.

Thanks in advance,

Jordan

Has there been any update on this? Now that we have 10.3 and even 10.4 does anyone know if you can publish from a
file GDB that in on your server?

Thanks - Katy
