Atlas Instant App not allowing additional maps or layers to be added after publishing

Hello, I have created and instant app using the Atlas template. 6 maps and 15 layers were originally added to the available content for users to choose from. After configuring everything to my liking, the app published without issue. Afterwards I wanted to add a few more layers. However, when I go back into configure the app to choose new layers or maps the options appear to be broken. They are visible and the animations for clicking work but clicking them does not bring up the window to select new layers or maps.
I have created two Atlas templates and both have experienced the same issue.
I appreciate any help with this issue.
