Support multiple choice form elements on layer views

When creating a Multiple Choice question on a hosted feature layer, it works as expected.

However, when configuring the form on a hosted feature layer view, the field is automatically converted to a Text Input. The Multiple Choice option is no longer available, and there is no way to change the input type back in the Field Maps form designer.

This is a major limitation because many organisations use hosted feature layer views to manage editing permissions and provide different forms for different staff groups. As layer views are Esri's recommended approach for access control, this effectively prevents us from using the new feature in production.

This sounds more like a bug, and considering how well the last round of updates went, it's quite possible it is. I'd suggest reaching out to Esri Support with this one and get it raised, or get yourself added to the BUG if it has already been discovered. I've been talking with them today on other topics post AGOL & Field Maps update and possibly found another BUG related to smart forms, attachments and offline maps.

@LindsayRaabe_FPCWA Esri support claim this is expected behaviour.

I'll have to look into it when I'm back at work myself. That doesn't sound like very logical behaviour.

I am really keen to also hear the outcome of this, I have responded to Brandon's post over on the Questions page as well. Put a lot of faith in this yesterday and began the update only for it to not be possible on the last step of adding the question to the form.

I have been looking forward to this update for a long time to improve our workflows. Everything was working great during testing until I got to implementing this in our architecture with our view layers to control user editing.

Classic Esri to release an awesome new feature but completely nerf its implementation. Completely missing the mark yet again.

Just got hit with this today.  Built out a nice project with the new multiple field.  Then we found it does not work with a view.  BUT the only way to control editing now is a view (which also drives us nuts).

So is it not possible to have editing control and use the new multiple field type?  Seems like a pretty big limitation.  Is this correct?

thanks
