We would love to be able to implement select multiple type questions in Field Maps. We currently have a use case where field staff need to select multiple types of waste found on a site and record contextual information for each one.

This is the current design in Survey123, but we would love to migrate this all into one single app instead of using Collector for visibility in the field, and Survey for collecting the data.

You can try this out soon in our Early Adopter Program - we would love to hear your feedback!

Please add this functionality!  Multiple select in Field Maps would provide extra efficiency when monitoring for invasive species and completing other similar field work.  Yes it can be done in S123, but why open another app when a quick form in Field Maps would do the job?

@JFisch, multiple choice was added to Field Maps as of the June update

I assume this is not coming to enterprise 11.5? The documentation that covers 11.5 does not mention the June update additions like 'Multiple Choice'
I also assume that this has only been implemented for hosted feature services?

Hi Shaun,

This is planned for ArcGIS Enterprise 12.2.

Multiple Choice is not limited to hosted feature services. It follows the same pattern as forms today. To use it, the field must:

  • Be a string field type
  • Not contain existing values
  • Not participate in a contingent value group
  • Not be a system field
  • Not be a primary or foreign key in a relationship

Note, if you wanted to use the other option you would need a field already defined as Field Maps can only edit the schema of hosted services.

If the service is hosted in ArcGIS Enterprise, it can be referenced in ArcGIS Online and Multiple Choice can be configured there. Folks can also use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise collaboration patterns.
