I am trying to create a graph that shows how many acres have been treated over the years. The date field is in mm/dd/yyyy.
In a line graph, I can change the bin setting to bin by year. In dashboards, I can bin the serial chart by years and force it to be a bar graph.
Does anyone know a trick to get around this? I feel like it is a simple graph functionality.
Until I figure this out, I have to embed a dashboard into my EB which does not play nice with the filters put into EB.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
I really have no business trying to solve this as I have never used EB nor have I made many bar charts with ESRI software. But I am curious....
Does it allow you to bin by fields other than the date? Is the date field a date/datetime field type? If so, maybe it doesn't like the field type? In that case you could potentially add a field called year and just make it a Long field type.
Could be totally wrong, but just a thought.
Not in a bar chart only a line graph. The date field is fine in dashboards or if I use the line charts in EB.
Hi, thanks for your feedback.
In the coming November release, Bar chart will support time parse. Thanks.
@Wei_Ying Hello, I have a similar issue with the Time only field not parsing for a bar chart. Time only fields are not an option in charts at all. Line graphs or bar charts.
Hello,
Time parsing for bar and column chart has been supported in ArcGIS Online November release. For Enterprise it would be until 11.5. Thanks!
Using ExB in AGO, I have a time-only field and it does not show up in the category field as an option for bar, column or line charts. I used to be able to make a line chart of a time field. But that capability is gone now.
@ThomasRickett would you be able to share your app or data for investigation?
Shared with you Wei.
