Up until today I was able to pass polygon location data from a map into a survey in Survey 123 in Experience Builder. Now when I go to pass the *Shape(Polygon) data it sends over this skinny polygon in the middle of nowhere. You can see on the map the parcel I am selecting and on the left you can see the narrow polygon that it is pulling over. The other text and number data fields transfer over fine.
I tried to troubleshoot this thinking it was an issue with the layer.
All results still coming up with the same bug.
It is working for me with polygons. Also, my original error I was encountering, where the geometry would not be sent on the first try, has also been fixed. Thank you!
Hi @Jianxia,
I can confirm that the polygon is passing over again once its originally selected, but i have a question later in my survey that uses the polygon shape and a secondary survey question for the user to specify
a search distance to find potential assets within the specified range. The minute we try and enter a search distance in the survey question now, the polygon disappears again. Thanks for the help!
@DJerbCO , thanks for reporting it with the video. We will take a look.
Hi @DJerbCO ,
It seems like an issue with the survey, the "developer search distance" triggers a calculation which clears the geometry in the survey map. If possible could you please share your survey design with us? The XLSForm of your survey would be really helpful.
Thanks,
Ruth
Hi @Ruth_JiatengXu & @Jianxia,
I greatly appreciate your help on this! I've attached my XLSX to hopefully help out, but just so you know as well, the functionality of searching by a specified distance for developers within the inputted range was working at one time. Again, i appreciate the help, and please let me know if there's anything else you needed!
Thanks!
Thanks @DJerbCO ,
The form is really helpful, and I can reproduce the issue. I found the real cause is that when you press the "Enter" key on the input question, the map question accidentally triggers the "create new polygon" mode which clears the previous polygon. Sorry for the inconvenience, and we will address the issue in the upcoming Survey123 update, and I will let you know when the issue is fixed.
The "Enter" key should not trigger the map "create new polygon" whatsoever, but in case you press "Enter" to trigger the calculation, the web app can automatically trigger calculations when the input is changed, so the "Enter" key is not needed for the input.
Thanks,
Ruth
Hi @Ruth_JiatengXu ,
No problem at all, I'm happy the form was able to help you recreate the error! Thank you for letting me know! Out of curiosity, do you know when the next Survey123 Update is currently scheduled for?
Thanks
Deric
Hi there @Jianxia I am still experiencing similar issues. I am using point data and when I click on a point, no geometry is passed to the survey. I have also tried rebuilding the Experience Builder app and trying it with a different form but to no avail. It was also working until last Thursday. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
@r_povilaityte @Meglutton, a fix has been deployed to address the issue of passing points. Could you please help confirm?
