I currently just started a new position as a GIS Specialist. ArcGIS for Server is set up with multiple web apps, I am attempting to access ArcGIS Server Manager as well as connect to the SDE Geodatabases on the server through ArcCatalog (database authentication); however, my predecessor did not leave any log in information for the server site administrator or any other user. I am attempting to contact the previous specialist, but in the mean time, I am unable to connect to our primary GIS Data on the server other than through old maps that were left for me. I have tried to recall the administrator password through ResetPassword.bat, without success. My IT department has been unable to help me. If any of you would have any insight on this, it would be appreciated.

Verify that account user name and that it is enabled.
Hi Matt,
Create a new admin/dbo user in the geodatabase and then setup a new site admin and/or portal admin account.
Example:
-Bill
I'm not sure but, I believe I would need to be able to access the ArcGIS Server Manager to do this, and I do not have any log in information to log into it.
When I run resetpassword.bat, a password is not returned. The windows command prompt comes up with a black screen and closes again.
Verify that account user name and that it is enabled.
Verify the log on as account for the ArcGIS Server windows service.
You will need to fool with this admin account too.

Ok. So I've made some progress, Thanks Mr. Fox for your first suggestion article. With some help using the command prompt, I was able to run resetpassword.bat and put in the command to return the username (./passwordreset -l), agssite, so at least I have that now. Now I'm trying to change the password and getting the following message:
Any suggestions?
