I have published an imagery layer and enabled pop-ups. In the new MapViewer, I get the pop-up but also a cyan-coloured selection frame. In the old mapviewer there is no selection frame visible. I have attached two screenshots that illustrate the problem.

How do I get rid of this selection frame? We use ArcGIS Enterprise Portal 11.3.

The linked thread is about 'focus rectangles' for the MapView. My question is about the selection that pops up when you click on the imagery layer to get the pop-up with the pixel value. You can see it in this example: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/layers-imagery-popup/

Is this as simple as just disabling the pop-up on that layer?

If I deactivate the pop-up functionality, I don't get a selection frame. That's true. But that's not what I want. I need the pop-up and it seems to work as desired in MapViewer Classic.

No, according to the linked article it's not possible to change the selection color in the MapViewer. It's only possible creating a web app using ArcGIS Web AppBuilder which has been retired some time ago (and will no longer be available in the next release).
