Group layers in portal for arcgis

is there any way to group layers in portal for arcgis?

in web map or web appbuilder?

It might not be exactly what you wanted, but a similar functionality is available with June 2016 update of WAB.

The new Group Filter Widget allows you to create groupings of layers to apply a value filter to. You have the option of saving and reloading your defined groupings so you can come back anytime and resume your work.

...but I don't think the June 2016 updates to ArcGIS Online WAB are available yet for WAB developer edition (we should see any day, I hope) or Portal (which usually comes after the developer edition release.

This is currently not possible in the Portal map viewer - but the enhancement is being considered for a future release of both ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS.

I believe you're asking if group layers are available in an enterprise portal at 10.8.1. The answer is "no". Group layer capability was added to AGOL in July 2020, and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 was released in July 2020 - typically, functionality introduced in AGOL is added to Enterprise later on.

I checked with the ArcGIS Enterprise Dev team and unfortunately, this capability is not yet available in an enterprise portal. Not even at the 10.9.1 release. Sorry.

Hello, what am I missing here?  I created a group in my web map (portal enterprise) and it shows fine.  However, I save the map and it does not show in the web mapping application.
