Received the following when trying to view the attributes of a view in ArcGIS Pro. Other similar views work fine. No idea what this error means. Any thoughts?

I've learned to save and save often while using ArcGIS Pro. I never know when an action or button click will put a spinner on the cursor and hang for seconds, minutes, or hours. I am surprised software like ArcGIS Pro, mature in many respects, would allow the application to go into suspension without some level of timeout handling. The only resolution is Task Manger => End Task. As a long-time GIS Developer with extensive experience with Desktop, perhaps I am missing something with not as much experience with Pro. I'm curious if others have similar experience with the application hanging?

Unfortunately, this is a client application, and the funding is not available to upgrade to 4.x. Also, we do not have Portal (Server only) and we can't use OAuth instead of a Proxy. Not sure what options are left to us aside from sticking with the non-vector, deprecated basemaps (which are now inaccurate no longer maintained). Thanks for the replies so far.

Hi @Noah-Sager, Thanks for the reply. I am using version 3.45. The issue appears to be with the proxy. If the proxy is removed, the basemaps render. But we need the proxy because of secure map services. We are using version 1.1.2 of the proxy. And we get the same error in all browsers.

I was asked to update the basemaps on an old application running the 3.x JavaScript API. Example, switch from streets to streets-vector and topo to topo-vector. When I made the change, the basemaps didn't load and I started receiving ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED in the console in the Edge and Chrome browsers (it did not error in Firefox, but it also didn't display the basemap). I am using a proxy: http://localhost:49501/proxy.ashx?https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/7dc6cea0b1764a1f9af2e679f642f0f5/resources/styles/root.json?f=json. It also does not work when published to a valid https serving environment. Any thoughts?

I am using the SketchViewModel to draw a graphic. When I draw the polygon as self intersecting, most of the time, the isSelfIntersecting property on the geometry comes back as false. Sometimes, but infrequently, the same shape comes back as true. Is this a bug? Any other way to determine self intersection? Also, I am not sure why there are two arrays for the rings array. Any thoughts on this? This is using the Esri JavaScript API 4.11

When using the advanced settings and checking Set Scale (e.g. 1:24,000); subsequent exports after panning will not export correctly, instead reverting to the original center point of the map when the Set Scale checkbox was checked. This was replicated in the Print Widget Sandbox site off the JavaScript API site.

Thanks for all the info. It seems to be an issue with the Esri JavaScript API widget and how it is set (portalbasemapssource, localbasemapssource). I probably need to get tech support on this as this is a public application that uses a publicly shared web map from ArcGIS Portal and even though everything is "public" it is requiring a login to access the basemaps...

Noah, I believe Portal is 10.6. I added the portal and web map: var portalUrl = "https://gistestportal.vhb.com/site"; id: "f040dad144344feb8fc7afb832e9a9bc" Still getting the login:

The API version is 4.9 and the issue occurs in all browsers. There are two scenarios - entering as a guest and logging in (with Portal). When logging in with Portal (which redirects to the Portal login and returns back to the application), everything is fine. When entering a guest, the only thing set is esriConfig - portalUrl and trustedServers. What is unclear is why using a public web map in a Portal instance would require a login for the basemap gallery where all the basemaps are public... and where the item (5b4ad9cb601c45e8978901b08dc087b8) comes from. I don't have a full sample, as these are Angular applications and imported libraries, but this is the code from one of the libraries to set the esriConfig and IdentityManager: setConfigAndIdentityManager(portalUrl: string) { esriLoader.loadModules([ 'esri/config', 'esri/identity/IdentityManager' ]).then(([ esriConfig, esriId ]:[ __esri.config, __esri.IdentityManager ]) => { this.srvcEsriConfig = esriConfig; this.srvcEsriConfig.portalUrl = portalUrl; this.srvcEsriConfig.request.trustedServers.push(portalUrl); this.srvcEsriId = esriId; }); }

I have a web map in a JavaScript API application that is public and loads fine. The Basemap Gallery widget, however, is requiring a login when I set the default portal in esriConfig.portalUrl. The login prompt is showing the id as 5b4ad9cb601c45e8978901b08dc087b8, but I can't find that item anywhere. Is there a setting somewhere or some other action that needs to be performed to allow the ArcGIS basemaps to load without logging in?

Sublayer (of MapImageLayer) currently only has a queryFeatures method. This is limited by the default number of records returned (typically 1000). It would be wonderful if Sublayer also had a queryObjectIds method like FeatureLayer, which is not limited by the default number of records set in ArcGIS Server. e.g. if there were 93,000 features in a sublayer, you would get an array with 93,000 object ids.

I've confirmed all protocols are HTTP in the API calls. The error is coming back from the webmap, and the calls to load the ArcGIS Server layers are happening over HTTPS.

I am trying to access a webmap published by a client and shared to everyone. The data in the webmap is from ArcGIS Server 10.2 and is only available through HTTP. When I use the JavaScript API to load the web map using the portal item id, the call is made using HTTPS. This fails to load the layers, as they cannot be served via HTTPS. Is there any way to make sure the call to load the web map through the JavaScript API uses HTTP and not HTTPS?
