A common issue with large ArcGIS enterprise organizations, especially higher ed, are users who have locked themselves out of ArcGIS Pro. This most often happens when users who checkout offline licenses for use in the field (or because they routinely work without an internet connection). If the users computer or HD dies and is replaced by the university, the user is then unable to license a new installation of ArcGIS Pro until the old offline user status is rest. This could be as simple as the user contacting their site admin and having them verify the status of the old machine then toggle a license reset for the user as appropriate. Instead it currently requires an Esri ticket that can take several days and many redundant back and forth email exchanges to complete. In the latest example from my org it took 3 days, 7 email exchanges, and 735 typed words to complete a license reset. Most of that time was spent reiterating the information that was posted to the original ticket (user name, email, reason for reset, org info). On top of that, Esri requires the user or admin to "sign" a permission statement that reads like an amateur legal contract and is essentially redundant to the licensing agreement the org already has in place with Esri. Please make resetting offline user licenses an admin operation.

We do, but that's not where the missing data is as far as I can tell. Our recycle bin permanently deletes after 14 days and these accounts have been in active for over 10 years! So something else is going on. I suspect it's that there are "files" embedded directly in some of the web apps that these accounts own, but I can't verify that.

I'm in the midst of an old user cleanup run and finding some discrepancies between what my Member report says for items owned by old members vs what I'm actually finding in AGO when I pull that member account up for deletion. Example of one user attached, but I'm finding that many of these older accounts say they have way more items than I am finding when I look them up in my admin dashboard in AGO. Any idea what is going on? If I delete a user in AGO that shows only 4 items but the report says they have 75 items, am I orphaning items in the org that can't then be found or removed?

I want to add that the big issues here are that 1) as an admin I should be able to easily override user settings if needed, esp for decade old accounts (user should not be be able to block admin control) and 2) even without that, the bulk delete function should be able to complete the delete for all selected accounts that do not have delete protection and just ignore those that do. That way I can at least whittle down to the the accounts the need manual remediation instead of it dropping the whole task.

I'll take a look at this, thank you. But in my opinion an org admin should not have to resort to custom python scripts to do these simple maintenance tasks. This should be a dashboard operation.

As an admin of a org with very high turn over (academic University) and over 4700 members (MANY of them inactive for several years), there needs to be a way to quickly clear out old accounts. If the account is inactive and over our stated grace period for content migration we need to be able to easily remove the old accounts and data - without having to resort to bespoke python scripts. This should be built in. FYI I'm currently looking at clearing accounts that are over 10 years old! It should not be this hard to remove them.

I'm attempting to clean up our AGO Org by removing older inactive user accounts (permanently deleting the accounts and data). From the Org Members page I can filter and select all members with log in dates beyond our threshold then bulk delete them. However, I always get the error message "Unable to delete members that own items with delete protection enabled.". AGO fails to delete ANY of the accounts if just one has a delete protected layer. Just before the bulk delete there is an option to view the combined data layers from the selected members. But there is no way to bulk edit the delete protection settings. This basically just leaves me having to remove in-active accounts one at a time and manually change any data protection setting these old accounts have set up. As an admin, I need MUCH better tools than this to run our org. Am I missing something that would allow me to bulk remove these old account and their data regardless of data protections wettings?

I want the analysis approach of the first image (OD Cost Matrix, each Origin has many Destinations, radial networks) with the line visualizations from the second image (true along the network routes as line features). I know OD Cost Matrix calculates along the real route, but we also need to show those routes, not just the simplified lines.

I'm helping a researcher with a network based analysis problem. The researcher has a set of Origin and Destination locations. These represent farms as the origins that truck out their animal waste (manure) to offsite destinations. Most origins have multiple destinations they truck to. The analysis goal is to find all the routes between each Origin and all of its destinations, and represent those links as the actual route line, not a straight line. OD Cost Matrix does the correct kind of linking, but it does not create a real route as an output. Route Analysis can create real linked routes as an output, but it connects linked locations as linear routes only, not as a radial Origin and Destination set of routes. Any help in bridging these analysis tasks and outputs would be greatly appreciated!

I'm working with a researcher who is running an OD Cost Matrix analysis in Madagascar using the Middle East and Africa 2024.1 MMPK data, hosted locally. She would like to show the road network in her maps that match the network used in her analysis, but in the newer versions of these network tools or data, I don't see how to add the actual network as lines to the GIS project. Am I missing something in how the MMPK is used or unpacked?

I'm the admin to a university ArcGIS Online Organization. One of our researchers has an AGO projects that includes data collection using Field Maps and partners from two other Universities (each with their own AGO Orgs). Is a partnered collaboration the only way allow the two researchers from other orgs to access and edit our hosted feature layer in Field Maps, or is there a simpler way for them to all work together?

I'm helping a researcher run a Zonal Statistics analysis for counties over a multi band raster of yearly average temperatures for the US. The temp data is stored in a either 12 band TIF or a .nc (NetCDF) file. The goal is to use model builder to iterate over the bands so the researcher is not manually running Zonal Stats for each month (12 times for every year they need). But when I load up model builder, I don't see an obvious way to iterate bands in a single raster. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Max. I think you are correct. I'll have to go back and look at the current version of Field Maps to see if this has been addressed, but it's unlikely. Esri moves at a glacial pace with these kinds of feature updates.

Adding my comment here rather than start a new thread. YES! Groups need a bulk add option and I'm surprised (although I shouldn't be at this point) that this is not already an admin feature for managing AGO Groups. This is an obvious use case, which I suppose is exactly why it got left off the tools feature list! Currently have a sub admin who needs to add his user base of 1000 members to a specific AGO Group. Currently he has no option but to add thena ll 1 at a time.

See the edited post above for a little more detail. Basically they set down a single averaged hi resolution GPS point, then enter all their observations off that point by angle and distance in meters. They do not need centimeter accuracy. Apparently ArcPad can do this directly? But it seems Field Maps can not. Yes, they will have GPS signal but no network. That's standard, they will download their maps for use offline and sync back to AGO later.
