Hi Gregorio, In version 3.23 of the API, you can use the 'LayerList' widget to create a layer list of the operational layers within your web application. Follow this link to go to the page for the 'LayerList' in the API Reference: LayerList | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.23 When constructing the layer list in your code, there is a property called 'showOpacitySlider', which accepts a Boolean value indicating whether or not to show a horizontal opacity slider for each of the operational layers that have been added to the layer list in the 'layers' portion of the constructor. If this property is set to 'true', a horizontal opacity slider will be viewable for each of the operational layers within the layer list. I hope this helps. -Jacob

Robert, I have yet to find a solution to this issue. I have spoken with ESRI Technical Support, and I was told that it may be an issue where some of the sites that are utilized by the app could be whitelisted by our Firewall. We are also having similar issues in trying to simply sign in to ArcGIS Online using Mozilla and Internet Explorer. The same issue happens: the page continues to load, and eventually stops at which point you can look at the errors in the web console. Our network team is currently looking into the Firewall issue. Thank you for your response. -Jacob

Hello, I have created an application using the Web AppBuilder in ArcGIS Online. The app works perfectly fine when I open it in Google Chrome. However, when I try to open it in Firefox and Internet Explorer, the app just continues to load and does not open. I opened up the web console to further inspect what the underlying issue could be and here is what the messages look like: Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you, Jacob Snyder

Hello, Is there a way for a 'Publisher' within our ArcGIS Online organization to overwrite a Hosted Feature Layer, even if they are not the 'Owner' of this Hosted Feature Layer? If so, can multiple different Publishers have this capability for the same Hosted Feature Layer? I appreciate your time and help in advance. -Jacob Snyder

Hello, I recently created an address locator in ArcGIS Desktop using the 'US Address - Single House' style. When creating, I chose to 'Enable suggestions' so that when the locator would be used in a web mapping application, users could more quickly select the address that they wanted to geocode. However, when using the locator as a Geocode Service in a web mapping application, the Search Widget that utilizes the locator returns addresses that do not exist, along with the correct address, when the user starts typing in an address for geocoding. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Is this a known bug? Thank you. -Jacob Snyder

Jay, Thanks so much for your reply. I went into 'Tools'>'Compatibility View Settings' and turned off the check box next to 'Display intranet sites in Compatibility View'. I then went back and tried the geocoding operation again and the point graphic still does not show up. There were no errors in the console, and I tried restarting my browser and even clearing my browser cache. -Jacob

Hello, I have recently created an application using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. The application contains a geocoding functionality in which a point graphic is supposed to display showing the matching address. This is what the working result looks like in Google Chrome: However, when the application is being used in IE 10, the point graphic does not show up upon successful completion of the geocoding operation (a match score of greater than 80). Here is what it looks like after geocoding in IE 10: I have used the 'SimpleMarkerSymbol' to create the marker symbol for the 'Graphic' that is returned from the geocoding operation. Is this some sort of known issue that occurs when using graphics in IE? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -Jacob

Hello, I have not been creating Web applications for very long, and I am not very learned on topics involving Web security. With that being said, I have recently designed a Web application using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript for my organization, and have focused mainly on the design of the user interface, as well as the functionality that is made possible through the leveraging of ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS API for JavaScript. As I have been finishing up the design of the application, I have been browsing the Web, and have been seeing some pages that talk about risks that come with not, "securing your application" from hackers. Do any other developers using ArcGIS API for JavaScript actually routinely go through this process when creating applications? Or is it only necessary in certain situations (i.e. when sensitive data is being passed between client and server)? In my case, there really is not any sensitive data that being passed from client-to-server/server-to-client when application is being used. Any direction whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -Jacob

Hello, I am currently attempting to create a web mapping application using the Web AppBuilder. I have been tasked with seeing if there is a way to modify the associated URL of this web mapping application so that the URL is more descriptive of the content contained within the web mapping application. The map shows GPS monuments, so 'GPS_Monuments' or 'GPSMonuments' should ideally be somewhere within the URL. This is what the URL currently looks like: https://spotsygis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=b7491b415f2f4b5d982b76fb5f800968 My question is, is there a way that I can edit the URL of the web mapping application to accomplish this, without breaking the link? The application is currently being stored in 'My Content' within my ArcGIS Online organizational account. Thank you for your time. -Jacob
