Good to hear you sorted out the problematic layer even if it took some sleuthing to track it down. I just wanted to note there is an easy way to check if any sharing issues for layers in a web map. On the item page as the map owner (or administrator), you'll see a notice if a map has any layers that aren't shared at the same level as the map. It will show under the share section on the right hand side of the map's item page if any access issues are detected. The review layer sharing link will open a dialog that lists any layers with access issues (along with the ability to update sharing if allowed): It is only able to detect sharing issues for hosted layers and other layer items. It doesn't detect service issues that lead to access issues (like enterprise services that aren't accessible to the public or other service-level issues, etc) but should work well for catching any basic sharing issues especially when you have a map with lots of layers and need to track down a layer that has been unshared out from under the map. Cheers, Chris

Hi @Martin1 , great thanks for the additional info. Try making two changes to the url: 1.specify the desired time parameter in the url with the value you want. Replace {Time} with any of the values from the time value list for that layer in the capabilities xml. Here is an example snippet from the xml for the SWISSIMAGE Zeitreise layer: 2. Adjust the XYZ parameters, replacing {TileMatrix}/{TileCol}/TileRow} with {level}/{col}/{row}. That should give you a url that looks something like this (with 1956 being used as the time dimension). https://wmts.geo.admin.ch/1.0.0/ch.swisstopo.swissimage-product/default/1956/3857/{level}/{col}/{row}.jpeg Those changes appear to help add the layer successfully for me when I tried (I also applied the Darken blend mode so the basemap shows through for reference): Cheers, Chris

Hi @Martin1 , sorry for the delay. The tile layer option should still be there for Map Viewer Classic (the only map viewer available when this was first posted). There is a new Map Viewer now, which includes the tile layer option as well but not sure if the tile layer option is available in your particular version of enterprise. Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing? that should confirm either way. Cheers, Chris

Hi, you should be able to achieve this by configuring a view of the Esri world geocoder with only LatLong as the supported coordinate order. You can do this from My Content -> New Item: In the locator creation wizard, select the "locator view from the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service" option: On the settings page in item details for the newly created locator view, you can configure which types of coordinates you want to support: From there, you would need to share the locator view appropriately (either at the org level or public, depending on how you intend to use it from the app. And then you can add it to your experience builder apps, or set it up as a geocoder for your overall agol organization, if that makes sense for you. Cheers, Chris

Hi Josh, That is a great question and informs the behavior for supporting the same workflow in the new Map Viewer. As the owner / administrator of the hosted fl, you automatically have full ability to manage and update the layer (you can try this by using your owner token to make an edit directly at REST for a service tht doesnt support editing) . Typically (web) apps will honor the editing capabilities on the service regardless of your identity so you can see the same experience your audience will see when engaging with the layer. As such, Map Viewer Classic made the full control editing option explicit to help make clear it is different than what service editing capabilities might be configured for the layer (there are some other technical reasons related to generalization vs full fidelity of features when editing vs non-editing in play as well). In (new) Map Viewer however, layer owners / administrators are automatically provided full control without requiring an opt-in option like in MVC. There is in-line messaging at key spots to still make it clear when an owner is able to edit outside of the editing capabilities defined on the service (which is still important when authoring maps / apps and need confidence in how things will look for your audience). Additionally, the other technical bits for generalization are handled automatically in MV / 4x JSAPI so the need for separating these workflows is no longer needed from this perspective either. Hope this helps clarify. Cheers! Chris

Hi @GailAloisio, sorry to hear you are running into the same issue. I would definitely encourage you to reach out to support. They will help get a reproducible case logged and the team will be able to release a fix (and can also share the problematic map privately per the instructions above, if that is possible). Thanks, Chris

Hi @David_Brooks , @DanielleKulas , we were able to workaround this issue for @gisetc on Friday. The issue is related to effects that are used as part of filter but not quite clear how it is happening yet. For @gisetc case, enabling feature-specific effects should serve to "reset" this error and get around it. It may work in other cases as well. (should be able to disable it after enabling it and have save work as expected). Can I ask though, when you save the map, do you happen to have the Filter panel open when actually saving the map (see screenshot below for what that looks like)?? That is the only way we have been able to reproduce it internally (and are looking to include a fix in a patch this week). Filter panel open when trying to save Thanks! Chris

hmm I think that should be ok (to have other apps open at the time). Do you have anything open specifically in map viewer (we have seen a couple issues off and on related to specific panel combination open in mv)? Like this Would you be able to describe the steps in more detail you did to configure the layer / map otherwise? Can send directly to cwhitmore@esri.com if you prefer.

Hi Anita, would it be possible to share your layer? If you have a group, you can invite username cwwhitmore into a group the layer is shared with. Sorry for the hassle. Cheers, Chris

Hi! Duplicate / copy is here! Sorry I did not post earlier..wanted to make sure it was released before making any other statements on when it is coming. You will find duplicate layer in the layer menu as well as in layer properties - As well as from the Properties panel -> Information section A couple other notes: - Duplicate is only supported for feature layers currently..other layer types will be coming in subsequent releases. - Support for save layer was really close for this release..can expect it to be part of the release planned for June / July. Cheers! Chris

Hi @Curt_H , @WQIDES , @CindyS , @Anneka_France , sorry for the delayed response. Understood about the importance for copying layers, and likewise for the hassle (and incompatibility in some cases) for having to switch viewers as part of a hybrid workflow. Copying layers, and saving to the layer item, is one of the core features that hasn't brought into the new viewer yet (as you've seen and voiced). It's being actively worked on..the goal is for it to be included in the update planned towards the end of the year. If it doesn't make this upcoming update, it would be for sure included in the Q1 release. @WQIDES would you mind to post additional details about the legend label reset (or send directly if you prefer)? That sounds like it might be a bug to investigate. Cheers, Chris

Hi Darren, would it be possible to share the map where you're seeing this (if only permissible to share privately, you can invite my username - cwwhitmore to a private group and share that way). Also..do you still see the issue this morning? It may already be resolved. Thanks, Chris
