forest knutsen following up the problem you faced here with vertices, could you find a geoprocessing/automation/scripts/pipelines solution to reduce polygons vertices without really change their original shape? If yes, then to keep feature class topology regarding contiguous polygons, which tools did you use when process is removing shared vertices on polygon limits? Thank you in advance, simplify polygon editing vertices #collinear

Thank you for the suggestion. My hard situation came up because I was told not to reconcile due to editions we are working on and was having problems with old domains in some tables so did a DB restore and backup on the server side but since we are working on a single instance could not use the same name for the "clone" DB and then have faced the problem of not able to connect ArcGIS to that DB. We have cleaning tables and domains I was able to export as XML.

Asrujit SenGupta and George Thompson's Blog Since this is true (in SQL Server backup and restore a DB will not able ArcGIS to connect to it) what should be the way to make a copy of a full geodatabase (datasets, feature classes, tables, RCs, subtypes, domains)?

Ulises Feliciano Troche, Despite you have discussed this subject a kind of long time ago could you please make an update what was the method - including rebuild indexes / analyze datasets / reconcile - you have found more effective? Dealing with enterprise geodatabases in sql server and the administrator ( SA) as the connection user have you found problems (hanged, frozen operation) with the rebuilding indexes?

OK the reason for the issue was due to archiving status of some items inside the geodatabase.

Hi Kylie Donia's Blog, mentioning issues with operation of downloading service map from Collector, maybe you can give us a hand. We are facing a Collector (version 18.0.1, build 1031) error message when we try to download a map we have published in AGOL (coming from our geodatabase in arcgis server 10.4.1 in SQL Server (2012)). We use arcgis desktop 10.4.1 to create the data. Collector running on Windows 10, Android 7, and iOS 10. The error message: "Map Download Failed. The operation couldn't be completed. Error while writing layer info in SqLite geodatabase." This haven't happened before with previous versions of Collector for the same kind of service map and same arcgis desktop and server - 10.4.1. Thank you in advance.

Hi Stewardship Staff, maybe you can give us a hand, we are facing a Collector (same version as yours - version 18.0.1, build 1031) error message when we try to download a service map we have published in AGOL (coming from our geodatabase in arcgis server 10.4.1 in SQL Server (2012)). We use arcgis desktop 10.4.1. The message doesn't have the same title as yours and does not mention replica but maybe in terms of the nature of the issue the error could have the same origin. The message reported: "Map Download Failed. The operation couldn't be completed. Error while writing layer info in SqLite geodatabase." This haven't happened before with previous versions of Collector for the same kind of service map and arcgis desktop and server 10.4.1. Thank you in advance.

Hi. Regarding this discussion How to get GPS offline in Collector how is the current collector version regarding the support of high accuracy external gps receivers/GNSS? In our case we have the globalsat BU-353-S4 (http://usglobalsat.com/store/download/688/bu353s4_ds.pdf) and adding that receiver inside Collector it says connection failed. We use Collector with Windows 10. Running GPS Direct client app (http://www.turboirc.com/gps7) as a way to tell W10 which door uses the location device, adding the receiver inside the Collector it says could not connect your receiver, your receiver's COM port is in use. Any help how to enable Collector to use it?

Encryption in the .geodatabase (collector local storage DB file)!? Trying to successfully run tool copy runtime to file gdb or export to XML + import XML into gdb on .geodatabase file, we figured the file which the tool could not open has some kind of encryption. This issue showed up opening the file with BD Browser for SQLite. How can we open it? Where and why Collector encrypts some and others does not?

Thank you. We solved it with a new .geodatabase. Indeed do not know what was the problem. Changed the file name to remove dots in middle but later trying with the new .geodatabase with original name it worked.
