Hi Kate, Yes, but I'm unsure if it's going to resolve your issue. Basically what we (me + ESRI Support) found was that once my Pro projects had too many maps/layouts in there (100+), it began to severely lag and my maps would never open. It took literally two months of testing and discussions. Lots of troubleshooting. They would literally just spin and spin for hours and do nothing. I have done a TON of trial and error, like closing the map frame, or closing the layout frame, and it would still spin continuously and never open up. One thing that I am in the habit of doing now, which has greatly helped is that I always close any map or layout, to clear everything out, and then I save the Project. So that way, when it opens up again, there's nothing to load up and it won't get stuck. Essentially, they determined that there must have been some sort of glitch, or bug in a previous map, and once that existed in the project, there was no going back. I highly recommend Delpha from ESRI - 888-377-4575 is ESRI's phone number, not sure if this is a direct line to her or not. But she was incredibly patient with me and does not give up. According to my notes from ESRI, they ran Procmon on the machine while opening Pro to see if it caught any glitches in local data, as well as Fiddler to check the same things. We also created a new local directory, created a python script which automatically exports the maps and layouts (basically saves a copy, except directly from Pro, rather than file explorer). This way we could troubleshoot and see if those copies would open up. We also of course tried copying maps/layouts to a brand new project. Ended up sharing the project package with her. It was eventually determined that a particular map/layout was the cause of the issues moving forward with the Pro project - maybe corrupt data, etc. I honestly do not recall what EXACTLY fixed my issue. But I do know now that I am working with multiple Pro projects, rather than just one. So as an example, I have created one for: Planning Board Maps, Properties, Asset Management, Data Edits, Synced maps from AGOL/Enterprise, etc. So that everything isn't all in one project. And like I said, closing out the maps/projects then saving the project has helped me greatly. Thank you for sticking around with this lengthy response, but I think it may help you.

Follow up questions - do I need to do this license manager upgrade on all machines that operate ArcGIS Pro? Also, do I need the Authorization codes for the extensions? Our Org has: 1 Desktop Advanced Concurrent Use License 2 Desktop Basic Single Use Licenses 1 Network Analyst for Desktop Concurrent Use License 1 Spatial Analyst for Desktop Concurrent Use License

Yes, I thought of that being a potential issue as well. However, I think this may be the cheaper, and faster solution with my current capabilities/knowledge. As long as I can get an understanding to what happens to the tracks after 30 days. Thank you again for your help.

Update - I actually just did a lot of digging, and I found that you can actually do mobile tracking through FieldMaps, as long as you have a Mobile Worker license, or an add-on Tracker license to an existing license. This basically enables tracks to be turned off and on in Field Maps, and those tracks are created as a layer. Then an Admin can use the TrackViewer Web App to view and export the tracks into Track Views for other users. This sounds like it could potentially be what we are looking for, since it's not as indepth as the Snow Removal solution. The only thing I need to look more into - is location tracks are only stored in your org for 30 days.

That was my initial thought too - to look at the Plowing solution and just utilize it for our Street Sweepers since it's the same concept. But again, I'm unfamiliar with the process since tracking is totally new to me. When you say to determine where the data is going, what do you mean by that? Do you mean a dashboard, or an application, etc?

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your response. I don't have either Enterprise geoEvent or Online Velocity at this moment, I've never used them, which is why I'm reaching out for some help, as I'm unsure where to begin on a project I've never done before. I do know that the street sweeper vehicles have GPS already - I don't know what kind yet. Looks like I have a lot of research to do.

Hello all! I'm not sure if I'm posting my question on the correct board, but this was my best guess. Our Highway Dept is interested in setting up a way to track our Street Sweeper trucks. They aren't necessarily interested in seeing where they are in real-time (watching the tracks live), but they are interested in being able to create some sort of report that says "(x) road complete". I would assume the first step and best way to go about doing this would to set up trackers on the vehicles. I have set up many web apps, dashboards, even network analyst so that our Health Dept and Senior Centers can run routes when needed. But I have not done anything like this before. Can somebody point me in the right direction on what my best option would be? Again, I just want to emphasize that the important thing for this project is just indicating that roads have been sweeped, or have not. Not necessarily watching the tracks in real-time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for this! I have been using Pro 3.0 since upgrading it (without updating the license manager), so it's been working perfectly fine so far. Will make sure that we update the License Manager.

Thank you for your response. My question is though - that I have already upgrade ArcGIS Pro to 3.0, and during UC, they mentioned to do the LM Upgrade prior to upgrading Pro. If I upgrade the LM now after Pro has already been upgraded, will this cause an issue?

Hi, all! I had our IT Dept update ArcGIS Pro to the 3.0 release yesterday as I was listening into the ESRI UC and was excited for the new updates. Today, I was listening into a session where they mentioned if you have a concurrent license for Pro to make sure to update ArcGIS Manager from myESRI prior to upgrading Pro. I did not do this, as I didn't know that I had to. I'm unfamiliar with updates via ArcGIS Manager, so if somebody could help me understand this process, or what I should do since I'm already updated to 3.0, that would be very helpful. What should my next steps be to make sure I don't encounter any bumps in the road?

You could do like Dan suggested. I'm unfamiliar off-hand if you could modify what you already have into multiple regions without ruining the outer boundary. How I just did this (to create snow districts) within our County boundary, was created a new Feature Layer (I'm using Pro), but you could do a shapefile in ArcMap. Then I drew in rough boundaries for those new districts within the county boundary. Then when the rough draft was done, I went back in and use the "Reshape" tool which helps to match the county boundary so you don't have to do all of that manually. There may be an easier way, but that's what I did. Another thought, you may be able to take the copy like Dan suggested and use the Split tool to roughly slice the county into those new regions, then go ahead and modify each geometry manually from there. That way you don't have to use the reshape tool to match the boundary.

Hi Josh, I want to thank you again for all of your help and time on this question. I just wanted to touch base to see if you've had a moment to review my last comment. No rush, I'm just hoping to try and get this new dashboard launched by May.

Thank you Josh. Again, data expressions are totally new for me. This is like looking a foreign language almost. I understand it a little bit from some sql I've done in the past. But anyway, I think I put in everything that I need. Do you mind looking it over and telling me if I'm missing anything? It says there's unexpected string in Line 23 (parse error), and there's also an "x" on line 32. So I must've done something incorrectly. I've done screenshots this time. Sorry I can't get it full screen. It also told me yesterday that our Portal URL was incorrect, which it's not. So I need to figure that out as well.

Thank you again! How about my other question from my last comment? I'll post it here: A side note: I also will need to add something in the code that basically says to only include features that fall under our "Status" Domain as: Planning, In Design, and In Construction. We also have Substantial Completion, Final Completion and Closed with Finance that are considered "completed" projects, and will not be on this bar chart. I think I'll need to have two charts - one for the first 3 categories, and another for the last 3 categories. Hopefully this makes sense. I basically need to query the data for the bar chart to only include specific categories of projects.

Hi Josh, Sorry for multiple messages. I pasted in the code from the website you sent me and it says "Unable to parse script. Check your syntax". So I just continued modifying the script anyway, but it still says it for Line 24. Would you be able to look it over and let me know what you think? I put Line 24 in bold. If a screenshot is easier since it has the spacing, let me know. // Reference layer using the FeatureSetByPortalItem() method. var portal = Portal('https://sql2017.w2k.co.camden.nj.us/') var fs = FeatureSetByPortalItem( portal, '7685831f1c4c4592ac7930bda21c9085', 0, ['Municipalities'], false ); // Create empty array for features and feat object var features = []; var feat; // Split comma separated hazard types and store in dictionary. for (var feature in fs) { var split_array = Split(feature["Municipalities"], ',') var count_arr = Count(split_array) for(var i = 0; i < count_arr; i++ ){ feat = { 'attributes': { 'split_choices': Trim(split_array[i]) } Push(features, feat); }}} // Empty dictionary to capture each hazard reported as separate rows. var choicesDict = { 'fields': [ { 'name': 'split_choices', 'type': 'esriFieldTypeString'}], 'geometryType': '', 'features': features }; // Convert dictionary to featureSet. var fs_dict = FeatureSet(Text(choicesDict)); // Return featureset after grouping by hazard types. return GroupBy(fs_dict, ['split_choices'], [{ name: 'split_count', expression: 'split_choices', statistic: 'COUNT' }]); A side note: I also will need to add something in the code that basically says to only include features that fall under our "Status" Domain as: Planning, In Design, and In Construction.
