Mike, Please ensure the temp directory of your ArcGIS Pro, has twice the disk space than the package. In this case you would need 200 GB+ space in the directory for "Other packages and files".

The "pathInCachedStore" should be the folder where the i3sREST content is stored. This folder contains the scene layer configuration necessary for publishing. For example: "pathInCachedStore" : " /rootS3directory/My_sceneContent.i3srest"

Is there an example python workflow or GUI based workflow for publishing the large scene layers with data in S3 in the i3sREST format? We do not have a GUI or python based workflow yet. We are working on it for our future release. I receive an error 99999 when attempting to publish the service in the last step of the script. I encounter no issues with registering the S3 bucket as a cloudstore in ArcGIS Server. Have you registered your S3 bucket as cloud store using ArcGIS Enterprise Portal App or ArcGIS Server Manager? This workflow would only succeed if you have registered the cloudstore using ArcGIS Enterprise Portal App. Would you please confirm this? Do you get any messages in the server logs along with error 9999? If so, please share it with us. I also noticed that the code specifically grabs the server ID from the hosting server however the comments note that the server can just be a federated server. Is that true? Yes, you can modify the ArcGIS API for python script to select federated server. This is supported. Best Wishes, Garima

Dave, Have you checked the image data renders at the extents provided? Please try to create a dynamic image service or add the image source in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro to ensure it renders at the scale of the extents in the error logs. It seems ArcGIS Server to access the source data which is causing cache generation to fail. --Garima

Alcis DevAccount Would you please share your mosaic dataset with tech support and we can take it from there. The CreateMapTilePacakge tool can only use one polygon for the extent. If you would like to use a multipart polygon you should consider "ManageTileCache" gp tool to generate the cache and then package it using "exportTileCache" tool.

Cache creation in Azure is supported at version 10.6 onwards. You would have to register the Azure blob store as a cloud store using ArcGIS Server Manager https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/registering-your-data-with-arcgis-server-using-manager.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_2015F3A59FA243CC9BDA15B1BCCC468B After registering the cloud store, you can publish cached map or image services using the Azure blobstore as a cache directory. You can create cache schema, update cache tiles, and delete cache tiles in Cloudstore. The following document https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/cloud/amazon/cache-creation-in-aws.htm is applicable to both Amazon and Azure Cloudstore cache directories Unfortunately, we need to add a generic documentation on the details of what is supported at each version for caching in all cloudstores. We will be updating the documentation shortly.

This issue has been addressed at 10.6.1. The recommended workaround for this issue is listed below: 1. Go to Server Manager and update publishing tool gp service usage time out to "360000" (more than 2 hours) 2. Restart ArcGIS Server. 3. use Share Package tool to upload and publish the VTPK is there a known limit on the maximum size of VTP that can be published as a hosted Tile Layer, or is this limit currently unknown? No, there is no limit to the size of VTPK. The publishing tools that extracts the content of VTPK in ArcGIS Enterprise has a usage timeout of 2hours. When the usage timeout was being update to 3-4 hours the Service was not honouring the updated usage timeout. A restart of ArcGIS Server after increasing the usage timeout resolves this bug.

Jack, The ManageMapServerCacheStatus tool is designed to work using "Full extents" of the map service when running with "REBUILD_CACHE_STATUS" mode. In the upcoming release we plan to provide a new mode which can work with user specified feature. --Garima

I'm running into these issues as well. I followed your steps and saw a huge portion of my map that the status.gdb thinks is successful but has 0 tiles... All I've witnessed so far is it creating empty bundles for all those that need to be created, then reporting as a success... when it is not. >>Justin, it seems you are running into a bug, can you share your data, server logs & error reports on server with ESRI support, so that we can reproduce & resolve this problem.

Sometimes within seconds I'll get a result from the Geoproccesing/Results dialog that my cache has been completed, when clearly it hasn't. Meg, were you running your cache job with ??wait for job completion? disabled. If so then this is as designed. When a job is submitted with this property disabled the ArcMap session simply submits the cache job to server and shows successful, instead for waiting for job completion. If you had not enabled this property then I think you are running into a bug. Can you share your data with us?
