I tried the select by location process you mention, but it didn't seem to work. Can you clarify that please? Yes, I want to remove one. I'm uncertain how many there are. I have four datasets, each with at least 100,000 features, and I've found at least a few by hand in each one, but I definitely don't have the time to inspect all of the feature classes by hand. I'm unsure how they all ended up in the same file. They're all from government agencies, so I didn't create the data.

I'm working with a few roads and trails datasets. There are some duplicate geometries that are not identical. See photos below. I tried Find Identical with XY Tolerance, but it didn't seem to find most of these. I tried continuing to increase the XY tolerance, but I just got it finding parallel roads like the roads below. I even tried planarizing the lines and just got a bunch of segments. I thought about trying to pull them out based on number of intersections, but I'm not even sure how to make that work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I added them all to a new geodatabase and then merged them. That seemed to work. Thanks so much for the input!

Yep, I mentioned this in the post, but it may have been unclear. I tried merging a few different pairs, but none of them worked. So it's not an issue with just one of the datasets, but it seems to be either all of them or my merge tool.

I removed all fields from the Field Map and ran again. That did not seem to help, so I don't believe the error is with any conflicting fields.

I'm trying to merge 23 line feature classes. For reference, they are all from the same source, the National Hydrography Dataset. They are all the same type: lines. When I tried to merge all of them, I got an error that says: "ERROR 002949: The data type of NHDFlowline is not the same as that of previously entered datasets." I figured maybe one of the feature classes has an error, so I tried multiple merges with different pairs of feature classes. They all got the same error. I tried writing to a shapefile instead of a feature class. Got the same error. I can't find any documentation on that specific error. They're the same type, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I have merged NHD line data many times and have never had this issue. I tried restarting ArcGIS Pro and restarting my computer.

I'm trying to create a tile package in ArcGIS Pro to use on a Collector map. I'm using clipped NAIP imagery. It keeps getting stuck at 100% for hours and not completing. I've tried leaving it overnight. It has all the required things: pyramids, a map description, etc. I've tried restarting Pro and restarting my computer. I can't figure out what could be preventing it from completing and would very much appreciate any suggestions. My Pro version is current. Thanks!

Hi Scott, Thanks for replying to my question. I was able to make it work by just extending the split line - so that I was clicking outside the polygon on each end instead of just clicking on the polygon edges. Seems obvious now, but I figured it out by accident just clicking around trying to get it to work. That seems to work for now, but to answer your questions: 1. I'm not sure because I got it to work in the other way before I saw your question and already split it. 2. NAD 1983 StatePlane Missouri East FIPS 2401 Feet_1 3. NAD 1983 StatePlane Missouri East FIPS 2401 Feet_1 4. Yes, just me. 5. 2.4.2

I'm trying to split this polygon about a dozen times. It was working for a while, but eventually it just stopped working. I started getting an error that the lines don't intersect the polygon, but as you can see in the attached photo, it certainly does. Please ignore the tail line outside of the polygon... I was trying to get a screenshot. Snapping is on, and when I hover over the split point, it shows I'm on an edge. How do I fix this? I have tried restarting my computer and ArcGIS. Thanks.

I'm trying to use ArcPy to apply a definition query to a layer based on a selection. First, I figured out how to use ArcPy to apply a definition query. This runs fine in a console, but won't run properly within the ArcGIS Pro Python console. That's unrelated to my current issue, but I would love tips on why that's happening import arcpy
aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject(r"C:\Users\melis\Documents\GISPortfolioProjects\CustomTools\Sel2DefQuery.aprx")
m = aprx.listMaps("Map")[0]
l = m.listLayers("parcels_centroid")[0]
l.definitionQuery = '""State_1" = \'VA\'"'
aprx.save() Then I separately found out how to access the OIDs of the selected features. Again, this runs fine in a console but not in the ArcGIS Python window. import arcpy
aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject(r"C:\Users\melis\Documents\GISPortfolioProjects\CustomTools\Sel2DefQuery.aprx")
m = aprx.listMaps("Map")[0]
l = m.listLayers("parcels_centroid")[0]
print (l.getSelectionSet()) This code gives the result {19,21} which is in the form of a set. So then I need to combine these two. This is what I have so far. It doesn't work. I can't figure out how to integrate the set into the SQL statement. import arcpy
aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject(r"C:\Users\melis\Documents\GISPortfolioProjects\CustomTools\Sel2DefQuery.aprx")
m = aprx.listMaps("Map")[0]
l = m.listLayers("parcels_centroid")[0]
OIDs = l.getSelectionSet()
l.definitionQuery = '"OBJECTID" IN' + "'%s" %OIDs
aprx.save()
I know there's something in my syntax that doesn't make sense, but I'm not very experienced with Python, and I've tried many variations of this statement and still can't get it to work. Is my problem that it's a set not a list? Or am I just trying to do it wrong? I would very much appreciate any guidance on how to get the SQL statement / definition query to work, and thoughts on why it runs fine in an outside console but not in the ArcGIS Python window. Thanks!

I'm hand-digitizing new features in ArcGIS Pro. After I draw a feature, I paste or type in attributes. The first few went well, but after a few features, when I would draw a new feature, the attributes of the previous feature would get cleared back to null. I've tried lots of things to stop this from happening: saving edits between features, clicking the "Finish" button between features, saving the project between features, but nothing helps. Just now, I re-entered attributes for one that cleared, but then when I edited vertices of the next one, it cleared the attributes of the previous one again. What am I doing wrong?

I just switched to Pro. I used to be able to sort an attribute table by a field, copy, and then paste them into Excel or wherever in the sorted order. Now when I sort an attribute table in Pro and then copy & paste, it pastes in order by OID. How to I copy & paste in Pro and maintain the order in which I sorted it? Thanks!
