@patrickb I'm working with a client who just requested this enhancement. Their justification is that they would like to see the feature they are selecting for a long duration, but without filtering out all of the other features in the map. Flashing draws their attention to the correct feature, but it is very transitory. Zooming and panning are great, but not useful for identifying a single feature when there is a clump. Our use case: we're making a dashboard tracking inspections on highway culverts. One tab displays the overall status of the inspections (how many completed, which districts have been covered, etc) and the other tab allows users to search a specific culvert ID to look up a table of inspection details on that culvert. Culverts can often be clumped together and users may spend some time looking through the various attributes on the table. Being able to go back and reference the correct feature in the map would be useful.

Hi Kristal, I don't actually work in Tech Support anymore so I can't make a case for you directly, but I'll ping some of my old colleagues and see if we can't get you set up with a courtesy case or figure out who your org's authorized support caller is so we can have someone look into this. -Alan

Hi Kristal, The Tech Support website (BUG-000118112: The Manage Area tool in ArcGIS Online does not work .. ) lists this bug as resolved at Server version 10.8. If you are still hitting problems and you are at 10.8 or higher I'd suggest reaching out to support to get that looked into. Regards, Alan

Hi Rui, You're talking about an admin account on your local machine, right? I'm not aware of any restrictions, unless your IT has placed some restrictions. You might want to reach out to them. I found this in the Telerik forum which also indicates admin rights should (normally) not be essential: Local admin rights for Fiddler? in Fiddler Fiddler on PCs - Telerik Forums If you're only working in a browser, you can use the browser's Dev Tools > Network tab to see the same information. It will just have a different UI than what I've explained above but the basics remain the same. Good Luck! Alan

Hi Byron, If you have Fiddler (shameless plug for one of my blogs) or Dev Tools turned on when loading your map you can see that many of the requests to the tiles are returning 404: Not Found messages. This would indicate that those tiles don't exist. So maybe the tiles weren't properly generated when you created the TPK, or maybe the tiles haven't finished being published in AGOL (as Katherine suggested above)? I'd strongly suggest creating a Tech Support case. If you have any trouble getting a case made feel free to PM me or reply here and I should be able to get one set up for you.

Hi Karl, A few thoughts: I think we should get the Esri China case escalated to Esri here in the US. Can you request your analyst in Esri China to do that? That will help us if we need to log a bug, get development involved in the investigation, etc. Would you be able to provide a small sample of data (through the case, ideally)? Even though it doesn't reproduce the problem you're reporting, it could help the developers to understand the "quality" (general texture and geometry) of the features that are causing the problem (when published at a larger scale). It would perfectly fine if you moved the geometries or modified it in ways to obscure the confidential nature of the data.

Hi Karl, I briefly chatted with some of our developers about this issue and they'd like 1) a sample package that will reproduce the issue you're seeing and 2) a Tech Support case logged so we can potentially get a bug logged. It looks like you might reside outside of the US though? If you're in the US would you mind creating a case via Esri Accounts? If you're outside of the US, are you able to create a case with your country distributor? If you can get a case logged, let me know the case number and I'll reach out to the analyst to coordinate this. If you can't get a case logged let me know and I will direct message you to hopefully get any sample slpk you might be able to provide. Thanks!

Hi ArcGIS Online users! I wanted to take a quick minute to provide some information on a recent issue that has been impacting many ArcGIS Online users over the last month who use Google Chrome. Description In the Content page in ArcGIS Online, the Add Item pane doesn’t work in some circumstances. No failure message appears; when the Add Item button is clicked nothing happens. Customers who called Esri Technical Support may have been attached to BUG-000120154 (which has since been closed). Cause This is a bug in the Chrome browser. You can see details about the Chrome bug on the Chromium website here. Solution Any other browser works. Chrome already has a fix in their development browser (Chrome Canary) and therefore should hopefully be implemented into the Stable release of Chrome soon. There are several workarounds when using Chrome before the fix is implemented: Use Chrome Incognito mode Use Chrome Guest mode Remove all stored passwords from Chrome I hope this helps clarify any questions about the problem. Happy mapping!

Hi Seth and Gregg, Thanks for posting about this, sorry for the delayed response here. The underlying cause here is with the traffic service, which has been reported on http://status.arcgis.com/. My understanding is that this should be clearing up (or already cleared up). I haven't looked into your accounts, so maybe you've already done this, but if you ever run into any service disruptions with ArcGIS Online please feel free to submit a Tech Support case: https://community.esri.com/groups/technical-support/blog/2018/05/01/how-to-report-an-arcgis-online-service-disruption Thanks! With a bit of sleuthing I was able to identify your case number (02252862). It looks like our analyst left a voicemail for your admin yesterday but hasn't heard back. I'll reach out to the analyst to make sure we get in contact. Side note: The original poster was hitting 503 errors when querying various services on services3. Are you hitting the same error code? If not would you be able to provide a browser Dev Tools log of the issue you're seeing? If possible, it would be best to provide that information to the case rather than here, just so we can keep all troubleshooting information in one place.

Was your case submitted to Esri (in the US) or one of the international distributors? Can you send me your case number? I can look into it.

Hello, Thank you for reporting this issue. We have alerted our operations team. In the future I would strongly suggest creating a Tech Support case for any service disruptions you encounter. If you don't have access to Tech Support, you are still allowed to report service disruptions directly to Esri Tech Support via the Support page. The following blog outlines how to report service disruptions: https://community.esri.com/groups/technical-support/blog/2018/05/01/how-to-report-an-arcgis-online-service-disruption

Hi Erika, When you get your case started, feel free to let me know the case #. Alternatively just ask the analyst you're working with to reach out to me directly. It looks like this might be a defect we need to get logged and I just want to sync up with the analyst make sure we get that logged properly. Thanks, Alan Rex

Hi Megan, I'll go ahead and get a courtesy case set up for you while we're waiting for the MyEsri issue to be resolved. I don't have your phone number on file, but I do have your @gmail email address from your username, so the Support analyst will have to reach out to you via email first and then you can work with them to coordinate a call (if necessary). Regards, Alan

Hi Megan and Scott, Sorry for the trouble you've been having! I would still suggest contacting Support (https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support) as that's the most likely way we'll be able to reach a resolution. Machine configuration specific issues (as this one seems to be) are typically very difficult to isolate, but the more people who report the issue, the more likely it is we'll be able to find what is in common between the machines where this problem occurs. Scott if you want to pass your previous case number to me I can look into. Regards, Alan
